Nightworld is the latest thing that's impressed me. I'll certainly be looking for more of McGovern and Leandri's work.

I read Nightworld today as well.. very good stuff.. Kirby-esque art, but with it's one feel, and a nice mix of classic and modern sensibilities....I hope the series continues!

Despite being very reluctant due to what sounded like a ridiculous and cheap way to sell funny books, Sex Criminals is surprisingly good.

I want to check out that new Eric Powell series. He's both a fantastic artist and one of the few who can write a good humor comic and I'm not sure I've seen him do anything outside The Goon yet.

Despite being very reluctant due to what sounded like a ridiculous and cheap way to sell funny books, Sex Criminals is surprisingly good. Yeah, I wonder if this and the Joe Casey series, "Sex", are more helped or hindered by their titles. I haven't read either one, and possibly those titles might have had some bearing on that: I find them slightly embarrassing - not in a prudish, we-shouldn't mention the word "sex", way, but more a sense that they protest too much - "hey, look at us, we're being adults, we're cool about sex." I think I'd feel the same way if they were prose novels.

Yeah, not a prude, but it just seems like kind of a cheap way to get attention, but Sex Criminals really was good.
It's going to be a tv series I'm pretty sure I read.
I've got the first few issues of Sex but haven't read them yet.

The mini is done and the trade is out there from IDW...a second series is possible (i've seen mention of one for 2016) but Stephen Mooney is doing some mainstream work currently....but I still want to spotlight this book as it is one of my favorites from the past few years. What do you get when you mix a pulp adventure hero with dinosaurs and Nazis? Half Past Danger! -M

Another I enjoyed that's wrapped up but in trade from IDW...Wild Blue Yonder. Kind of a post-apocalyptic aviator adventure... took forever to come out with massive delays after the first 3 issues but was worth the wait. -M

I've said it elsewhere, but I'm loving this year's sci-fi out put, with Descender, Ei8ht, Chrononauts, Kaptara and now Image's new book Pisces there is something for everyone. So far Descender is my favorite but if Pisces lives up to the 2001 feel that it delivered in its first issue I think it's going to be a fantastic ride.

I wanted to check out Pisces, but haven't been around to the comicstore this week yet. Kaptara was fun, but I was expecting more from it. It didn't have the Must-Read-Next-Issue that I was hoping for from Chip.

I'm really looking forward to Fight Club 2.
It is a legitimate sequel to the original book, written by Chuck Palahniuk, the actual author of Fight Club. The Free Comic Book Day preview edition was great (though short). Issue 1 will be released May 27. If you are able to attend one of his stops on the current tour, you will receive a signed copy of the first issue, as well as a signed copy of his new book (a collection of short stories). I'll be attending the Washington DC signing on May 28.
