Titans of Justice Unlimited Chapter 111 - “Fall From Grace Part 5”
Written & edited by: Power Guy
The Hall of Justice…
“Rachel! My God! What the name of the Lord are you doing?!?!?!” screamed Vixen as she rammed into her daughter with the intensity of a charging rhino.
Totem flew halfway across the room. The blow from Vixen had caused her to drop John Stewart’s power-ring. Vixen quickly picked it up and placed it on her husband’s hand, hoping and praying that it’s healing properties could still do some good. “John….baby. Stay with me please.” she said looking down at the love of her life with tears dripping from her eyes.
Meanwhile, Plastic Man had used his elastic limbs to pull Nucleus off of the third Atom.
“Let me go, you rubberized freak!” ordered Nucleus as he struggled to free himself from Plastic Man’s grasp.
“Sure, you got it, pal!” replied Plastic Man as he spun Nucleus around and shoved him into a nearby wall. The size-changing Titan’s head smashed into the wall, leaving him disoriented and woozy.
“Vixen….is John…” the Red Tornado began to ask.
“There’s still a pulse!” answered Vixen with a glimpse of hope in her eyes.
“Then you and Plastic Man need to get him to a hospital NOW!” directed the elemental-powered android.
“But we can’t just leave you here with….” started Plastic Man, noticing that both Nucleus and Totem had recovered and were advancing towards them.
“I will be fine - NOW GO!” ordered the Red Tornado.
As Plastic Man and Vixen rushed out the room, the stretchable sleuth asked his teammate, “Where are we taking him?”
“Metropolis University Hospital. Don’t take offense if I rush ahead,” advised Vixen. “Cheetah!” she called out as she drew upon the speed of the fasted animal alive and raced forward.

Back inside the main meeting room…
“You should have retreated with your friends, android,” advised Totem as she and Nucleus closed in on the Red Tornado.
“I am not afraid of you,” declared the crimson-clad hero. “And now that I have a good look at you, I won’t hold back. My optical sensors indicate you are using holographic technology to hide your true appearances. Once I inform my Justice League teammates, they will no longer show you the mercy they previously have.”
“That’s if you make it out of here in one piece,” Nucleus said, cracking his knuckles. “How many times have you been dismantled and sent to the junk-yard?”
“It’s true. There have been several times when my enemies got the best of me and I needed to be repaired,” admitted the crimson-clad warrior of the winds. “But I have won more battles than I have lost and I suspect that this encounter shall end in my favor.” Suddenly, the Red Tornado increased the velocity of his tornado-attack, scattering his opponents around the room.
A few seconds after the two Titans had landed on the ground, Nucleus called over to his teammate, “Totem, we need to increase our mass so that he can’t toss us around like a bunch of rag-dolls.” Nucleus quickly used his density-control abilities to enhance his own mass while Totem called upon the propertiees of an elephant, increasing her own mass by more than a dozen-fold. The two Titans pressed forward, closing in for the kill. “Go ahead, robot, turn up the pressure any more and you’ll level this place,” Nucleus smiled with sickening delight.
“I cannot risk bringing the roof down,” agreed Red Tornado as he paused briefly, “But then again, that doesn’t mean that victory won’t be mine!” he announced as reversed the polarity of his tornados and sucked the air out of both of his attacker’s lungs, sending them off into unconsciousness. “Now, to alert my Justice League teammates about your deception….” began the air-controlling android until suddenly, someone came up from behind him and punched a hole through his chest.
“You’re not going anywhere,” came the voice of Argos as he retracted his fist.
“Damage…….catastrophic….” observed the Red Tornado as he looked down at the gaping hole in his chest.
“That’s right and it’s only about to get worse,” promised Argos as he put his two hands inside the hole he had created and literally ripped the Red Tornado’s body in half. The force from the tear sent his head flying through the air, only to be caught by Illumina.
“Don’t you worry too much,” the daughter of Dr. Light offered with a twisted grin. “I’m a scientist. I can have you back in one piece in no time. Soon, you’ll be completely reprogrammed and working alongside us.” she said, carrying the Red Tornado’s head towards her lab.

Outside the Hall of Justice…
“They all went back inside. Now what are we going to do?” Metamorpheous asked Halo.
“Don’t panic! This is just a temporary set-back,” assured the living auricle. “In fact, I’ve got any idea.”
“Really? I’m all ears,” replied Metamorpheous, eagerly. “I know you said we had to get into the Hall in order to put our plan into action.”
“Yes, and we’re going to get in there,” Halo said, determined. “Now here’s what I need you to do….”

A few minutes later, back inside the Hall of Justice…
As several of the Titans were gloating of the victories they had achieved earlier today, Metmorpheous sifted through the ventilation system in the form of gas.
“Now that we’ve beaten both the Justice League and the U.S. military, that should send out a message to the rest of the world that we are unstoppable!” bragged Power Guy as he addressed his team. “We can now begin our plans to conquer this world!”
Just then, several members began to choke slightly and started to feel dizzy.
“Wha….what’s happening? F…..fe….feel light-headed all of a sudden,” mumbled Starman right before he passed out.
Suddenly, several more of the Titans began dropping like flies.
“It’s a gas attack…” deduced Nightvision as he reached into his utility-belt and pulled out his gas-mask but it was too late, He was already starting to succumb to the affects of the gas just like the Huntress, Power Guy, Green Lantern, Wonder Man, and all of the others had.
In the matter of thirty seconds, the entire roster of the Titans of Justice had been sent off the dreamland.
The gas began to pull together only to warp into the form of Metamorpheous. “Whoa! I can’t believe that worked!” sighed the son of the Element Man. He quickly flipped a switch and allowed Halo entry into the Hall.
“Nice job, Ethan! I know you could do it!” congratulated the former Outsider.
“Hey, don’t pat me on the back too much, it was your idea,” Metamorpheous smiled, humbly.
Halo began looking around the room. She then pointed to a certain part of the computer systems, “That’s the control panel, right?”
“I think so but then again, I’ve only been here a few weeks,” admitted Metamorpheous.
Halo dashed over to the keyboard in front of her. “I’m no technological expert but I have been taking some computer classes in light of my new photography career. Hopefully, it’s enough to help me figure this out.
“So, what exactly are you doing?” asked the son of Rex Mason.
“Well, with all of the Titans being controlled or otherwise, we’re going to need some help in setting things right,” started woman also known as Violet Harper. “I’m sifting through a list of their reserves and allies. Several of these folks look promising,” she commented, typing almost frantically. “Ok, that should do it! Let’s get out of here!”
“What did you do?” Metamorpheous asked as he and Halo raced out of the building.
“I activated a signal to summon the folks on that list we found,” revealed Halo. “We’ve got a date in Happy Harbor in an hour. You up for the trip?” she smiled.
“You bet!” replied Metamorpheous, enthusiastically.

About twenty minutes later back inside the Hall…
The Titans had all come to a few minutes prior.
“Well, they didn’t take anything,” confirmed the Flash as she returned from searching through the building.
“No, but the computer has been activated but the memory has been cleared,” grumbled Wonder Man as he punched the console, denting it.
“Big deal,” huffed Power Guy. “It doesn’t matter if our trespassers took any information. No amount of information in the world will be enough to stop us. From here on out, the Syndicate of Terror will reign SUPREME!!!”
