Justice Society Unlimited Secret Files #1
Written & Edited By: Power Guy
***This story takes place after the soon to be released TOJ/JSU crossover.
The Bat-Cave, Gotham City, Earth 2...
“This is a unique night, that’s for sure,” the Huntress thought to herself as she sat in front of the Bat-Computer. “The Earthworm is finally locked away. Dr. Death and several other of my rogues are actually staying put in prison for longer than normal and of the criminals that are running free, they’re keeping to themselves tonight. Now would be a good time to update my files on the Justice Society in light of all of the changes recently. We’re the multiverse’s longest running super-team and like any other long-standing organization, we’ve changed a lot over the years. Let’s start at the top of the list.
Dreamsweeper aka Kurt Dodds is the grandson of Wesley Dodds, the original Sandman. Wesley's love, Dian, became pregnant and not wanting the baby to follow in Wesley's footsteps as a superhero, faked an abortion and gave her baby up for adoption. Wesley's son later discovered his true heritage and shared this knowledge with his own son, Kurt. After his dad was killed by a bunch of petty thugs, Kurt decided to follow in his grandfather's footsteps and avenge his father's death as the new master of dreams: Dreamsweeper. He carries with him a sleep-gas gun which puts his opponents to sleep and then the nightmare starts as Kurt has the power to invade someone's mind while they are sleeping. The only catch is that if they wake up while he's still inside, he's trapped until they fall asleep again. One more thing to note, before the recent Crisis, Kurt operated on New Earth as Dr. Sand but when Earth 2 was restored, his history changed so that he had always resided on Earth 2. Kurt also keeps himself busy as a reserved member of the Titans of Justice and a near-obsessive historian. No-one has more knowledge of American history than him.
Dr. Fate aka Kent Nelson is the original carrier of that code-name. On New Earth, he died and many succeeded him in taking over the Helmet of Nabu but eventually, he was reborn when Vulcan Son of Fire killed his last successor known as Lord Fate. Once Earth 2 was reborn, Kent never died and has remained eternally young over the years due to his mystical abilities. He is the only founding member of the JSA still active besides the Spectre(whose current whereabouts and intentions are unknown). Kent is the one of the most powerful sorcerers in the multiverse and one of the few people who have any chance at all of stopping the previously mentioned Spectre.
The Emerald Archer is the son of the Green Arrow. Green Arrow was a member of the Seven Soldiers of Victory. Around a half a century ago, the Soldiers were stranded in Limbo thanks to a powerful being called the Nebula Man, The JSA and the Justice League rescued the Soldiers around twenty years ago and Green Arrow retired shortly afterwards until the first major Crisis in which he was killed in the line of duty. Before he died, he fathered a son, Corey who eventually took after his father and became a superhero. Corey is a skilled archer who carries a full variety of trick arrows in his quiver and thinks he’s God’s gift to women everywhere. I still feel bad for Di Di over the hell he put her through.
Fury aka Lyta Hall is the daughter of the Earth 2 Wonder Woman and the wife of Hawk Warrior. After the first major Crisis, Wonder Woman was rewarded by Zeus and ascended to Olympus. With her mother currently residing on Mount Olympus, Fury is Paradise Island's champion in "man's world". Armed with super-strength, speed, golden bracelets, and her mother's magic lasso, she plays a vital role in the new Justice Society Unlimited as our resident strong-woman. Fury and I have known each other since our days in Infinity Inc. At first she was hot-headed and irrational at times, now she’s level-headed, focused, and a superb tactician.
Ground Zero aka Shane Dunbar is the grandson of Dan The Dyna-mite. He can emit powerful explosions from his hands thanks to the two Dyna-Rings he wears(one on each hand). He simply has to slam his rings together and he becomes a human fireworks display. I have to give Shane a lot of credit. He was very open to the team about his homosexuality which couldn’t have been an easy decision for him with people like Dr. Fate and Robin still on the team who both come from an era where such a lifestyle was forbidden and a death sentence in some cases.
Hawk Warrior (formerly Stratohawk) is the reincarnated Hector Hall, the son of Hawkman. Hector was killed some time ago while being controlled by Hath Set. Some time after that, he was reborn thinking he as a man named Christian Jordain but that charade was put to an end when Earth 2 was reborn and his true history was accounted for. As Hawk Warrior, he can fly, is skilled in various forms of combat, and is familiar with the use of various ancient weapons. Hector also serves as full-time member of the Titans of Justice.
On to myself. Huntress aka Helena Wayne is the daughter of two earths. On New Earth, she is the child of Batman and Catwoman. Helena Wayne decided to call herself the Huntress after the second Huntress(Helena Bertinelli) saved her mother's life and then later was killed in the Black Orchid Massacre. On Earth 2, her origin is very similar. She is also the daughter of Batman and Catwoman however, her inspiration to become a crime-fighter came after her mother was killed after going straight and then being lured back into a life of crime by blackmail. Many thought that Robin and the Huntress had died in the events known as the Crisis On Infinite Earths after the pair were attacked by several Shadow Demons. The truth is that their bodies were badly damaged by the anti-matter that fueled the Shadow Demons. Dr. Fate made a last-ditch effort to save their lives by casting a special healing spell which also placed them in Limbo for almost two decades and kept them from aging. She is the world’s second greatest detective, skilled in almost every form of hand to hand combat, an accomplished escape artist, plus she carries with her a variety of Bat-weapons and a bull-whip. She is also noted for prowling around Gotham on her very own Bat-cycle. The Huntress is also a current member of the Titans of Justice.
The Jade Sentinel aka Alex Hayden is the grandson of Alan Scott aka the Golden Age Green Lantern and the son of Jenny Hayden aka Jade from Infinity Inc. His father is unknown, He wields his grandfather's power-ring and can conjure up just about anything he can imagine with it. He serves as co-leader of the Justice Society Unlimited along with Liberty Belle III.
Liberty Belle III is the daughter of the second Liberty Belle and the second Hourman. She has two siblings(both by adoption) Junjie Quick(currently deceased) and the Sixty Minute Soldier. She has super-strength, speed, and can emit vibrational attacks. She serves as co-leader of the Justice Society Unlimited along with the Jade Sentinel.
Lightspeed aka Jason Daniel Garrick is the grandson of Jay Garrick aka the Golden Age Flash. He possesses super-speed like his grandfather. Jason is the heart and soul of the Justice Society Unlimited and is in the process of becoming a pastor.
Robin of Earth 2 has stayed younger than anyone else his age on Earth 2 thanks to the magic's of Ian Karkull and Dr. Fate. Carrying on the legacy of the Golden Age Batman, he battles alongside the successors of the Justice Society on the JSU.
The Shining Knight aka Sir Justin began his heroic career as a Knight of Camelot and then later as a member of the Seven Soldiers of Victory, Around a half a century ago, the Soldiers were stranded in Limbo thanks to a powerful being called the Nebula Man, The JSA and the Justice League rescued the Soldiers around twenty years ago. Armed with mystical armor and his unbreakable sword, he fights for justice just as hard today as he did in medieval times.
The Sixty Minute Soldier aka Rudy Lincoln is the the adopted son of Rick Tyler aka Hourman II and Liberty Belle II. Rudy perfected the Miraclo forumla to work with his body's unique chemistry. He now fights crime as the Sixty Minute Soldier. He has two siblings: Junjie Quick and Liberty Belle III.
Terrifica is the daughter of the second Mr. Terrific. She is extremely intelligent, quite resourceful, skilled in various forms of hand to hand combat, and carriers with her, several dozen T-spheres which can integrate with many forms of technology, take pictures & videos, produce holograms, turn into heat-seeking mini-bombs or homing devices and fire lasers.
Vigilante (Greg Saunders) is the grandson of the original Vigilante from World War II. He is a super human marksman - born with the ability to see clearly for up to 3 miles. He is an expert in tactics, counter-terrorism, and strategy. He is also proficient in most known weapons, with training in hand-to-hand combat and bladed weapons.
Wildcat is a bit of a mystery. He showed up during the first TOJ/JSU crossover, presenting himself as Ted Grant however, if that were the case, he'd be over one hundred years old at this point. Does the original Wildcat have one more life to live or has someone else taken up the mantle in hopes of passing himself off as the original?
“Well, that’s everyone,” the Huntress said as she closed her file. With so many members giving their resignation after our battle with the Titans of Justice, we sure could use some new blood. Now on to some of our most prolific, active enemies:
Cyclotron II aka Terry Rothstien is the son of Atom Smasher and the great grandson of the original Cyclotron. He can fly, emit atomic blasts, and create bright flashes of light. He hasn’t been seen since the last Crisis but he’s too dangerous to close the book on. I’d like to think we could get him to follow in the footsteps of his father but the Wizard may have spoiled all chances of that when he inducted Cyclotron into his Injustice Society.
Dr. Blizzard is the grandson of the original Icicle. The latest bearer of the Icicle legacy seems to have his father’s cold-generation powers but also surprisingly loves to use his grandfather’s ice-gun which he's fashioned into a doctor's headband. More than just a petty thief, he’s responsible for several major gold and jewelry heists.
Johnny Sorrow is easily one of our most deadly adversaries. Besides his almost instant death-stare, his cunning and twisted mind makes him quite the force to be reckoned with. Johnny will do anything and everything to further his sick goals and I mean ANYTHING!
Magic Mistress aka Zarda The Great is the niece of the Wizard. She used to be one of the most kind-hearted, generous people in America, known quite well for her vast humanitarian efforts. That was until she apparently snapped and embarked on a life of crime. Like her deceased uncle, she is a major player in the mystic community capable of mass destruction with her spells. What caused this woman to make such an about-face is a mystery I intend to solve.
Music Meister is the grandson of the Fiddler. He uses his scientifically augmented violin to manipulate others. The violin can also unleash sonic attacks.
Per Degaton’s whereabouts is anyone’s guess. Is he in the past? Present? Future? This man always seems to pop out of the timestream at the worst possible moment. For a person with no special weapons or powers, he causes an almost incomprehensible amount of chaos each time he rears his ugly head.
Roulette is the granddaughter of the original Mr. Terrific. We just recently had a run-in with her when most of us thought she had retired. Like her grandfather, she is skilled in just about every talent out there but most of all, she is a deadly fighter, She’s one of the few people on earth I take seriously when I’m in hand to hand combat with her.
Solomon Grundy is an opponent of ours since the early inception of the original team. Armed with immense, brute strength, he’s nothing to toy around with in spite of his lack of intelligence, Grundy has killed so many and no matter how many times we put him down, he always comes back.
The new Thorn is quite the enigma. She showed up in the latest version of the Crime Champions. She was not all there to say the least, claiming to be from the land of fairytales and threatening to send people to the gingerbread house. She has the power to control plants just like her predecessor.
Ultra Humanite has been quiet for way too long. Dick, Kent. Hector, Lyta and I know far better than to assume he’s thrown in the towel. Our body-hopping adversary is most like taking his time with his next plot to rule the world. We can expect him to strike when we least expect it.
Vandal Savage has been MIA for a while now. After his last defeat, he was pretty banged up so odds are, he’s been getting some limb transplants during his hiatus. This immortal villain will surely return to make another play for world domination.
Vulcan Son of Fire is one of the deadliest foes we've ever faced. The man can go toe to toe with our mightiest members with ease. Vulcan is so powerful that he nearly killed Dr. Fate during our initial encounter with him. None of us will forget how gruesomely he killed Firebrand during the recent crisis. Hopefully he stays locked away or it might mean the lives of half the team.
Woton has supposedly been vanquished but Dr. Fate doesn’t believe it and neither do I. Out of all of the evil sorcerers we’ve faced over the years, he’s second only to Kulak. One day soon, Woton will resurface. Let’s just hope that Dr. Fate stays prepared.
Others that I believe could still cause us a serious threat but haven’t been heard from in ages include Axis Amerika, Deathbolt. Ian Karkull, Killer Wasp, Kung, Night & Fog, Rival, and Sumo The Samurai.
Just then, a buzzing noise blared through the Bat-cave. The Huntress quickly turned her head to the right and noticed, “They’re shining the Bat-signal. I knew this night wouldn’t stay quiet. I wonder who it will be this time? Nightingale? Karnage? Mr. Freeze perhaps?
THE END!
