Just read Space Riders #1 from Black Mask Studios and really enjoyed it. The art has this really cool psychedelic quality especially the coloring. The premise is basically a disgraced space captain gets a second chance to redeem himself. He's joined by his first mate who is an anthropomorphic baboon and a female robot. From what I've read about it online it may only be a four issue miniseries.

I just finished reading it and loved it. Alexis Ziritt's artwork is insanely cool. Here's a preview.

I think the next issue is the last which sucks because this mini series has been awesome fun. Here's a preview.

I picked up Space Riders: Galaxy of Brutality #2 this week at my LCS and was pretty excited to read it. Unfortunately Black Mask Studios has had issues with getting books out regularly which apparently isn't exclusive to this title. I guess I'd rather read something that's consistently high quality than have books rushed out to fill obligatory deadlines. Has anyone else checked out this series? I managed to score both the TPB of volume 1 as well as the first issue of Galaxy of Brutality back on Free Comic Book Day.

Things are coming to a climax in Space Riders: Galaxy of Brutality #3 as they confront their big bad. The end of the comic mentions it's "To Be Concluded" in the next issue but I'm not sure if that simply refers to this story arc or the volume and we'll get another renumbering. Given the inconsistency of Black Mask Studios' output hopefully we'll get at least one more issue in 2017.

I wasn't going to get it until I saw the cover artwork on Alexis Ziritt's Instagram. I like how it merges elements of those last two covers.
