An arena within the Royal Palace of Atlantis…
“Where the #_(% am I?” growled Jo Jo Gardner as he awoke on a battlefield. He then notice Quake standing several yards in front of him.
“Attention surface scum,” began Clea from a balcony seat above the battlefield, “There is nothing I love more than seeing two men fight. Deny me of this pleasure and I shall destroy one of your cities regardless of the deal I made with the United Nations. The duel begins now and don’t hold back or one of your cities will still pay the price!”
“Looks like we don’t have much choice but to fight, Jo Jo,” frowned Quake.
“Yeah, I heard the rag,” spat the son of Guy Gardner and Ice. “I just hope I don’t hurt you too badly.”
In her balcony seat, Clea was reveling in the moment, sipping the finest wine Atlantis had to offer while munching on baked oysters.
“You really get off on this $#!+ don’t you?” questioned King Shark.
“I do,” smiled Clea, devilishly.
“Hehe….so do I. Can I eat the loser?”
“We’ll see,” teased Clea as she leaned forward in excitement.
Down below, Jo Jo Gardner was in hot pursuit of Quake from the air. He had made a giant fly-swatter and kept attempting to hit his teammate with it.
SWAT!
SWAT!
“There’s no way I’m avoiding this one,” Quake thought as the shadow of the flyswatter loomed over him. “Got to counter-attack!” He shot out a stream of his vibrational energy which shattered the weapon. “Gardner’s construct was soft. Maybe he’s not a complete jerk after all. Still, one of us has to win this battle or a city is doomed.” He then shot one of his Vibe-bombs at Jo Jo. The Green Lantern quickly became locked in a sphere of vibrational energy which shook him around like a rag doll in a tornado, his body being banged against the sides of the sphere. “That’s gotta hurt but it won’t kill him,” thought Quake.
Within a few minutes, Gardner had passed out and dropped to the ground.
Clea and her minions cheered in approval. Clea then said, “Take these two opponents back to their cells and bring out our first female fighters. How many male heroes are left?”
“Only Storm Surge,” answered the Black Eel. “Shall I prep him for battle?”
“Yes, but we’ll need another male fighter…..” began Clea. “Take Devil Ray.” She said in a shocking turn of events.
“What! No! I’m part of the team!” screamed the son of Black Manta as King Shark and the Black Eel seized him, firmly and began dragging him down to the dungeons. “Sting Ray! Help me! I’m your brother!” he pleaded.
The rest of the Crimson Tide looked at the Sting Ray as she stood motionless and said, “Better you than me, bro. I’ll tell dad that you said good-bye.”
“Cold-hearted and self-preserving, I like that,” smiled Clea.
“I don't know any other way to be” stated the sinister murderess.
Down below, Sargona was being pitted against Champion, the daughter of Wonder Woman and Steve Trevor. With the muscles in her mouth and throat still paralyzed, she couldn’t talk much less cast any of her backwards-speaking spells. “This could very well be the fight of my life but I may be able to turn things to my advantage if I play my cards right,” she thought to herself.
Champion quickly threw her golden lasso around Sargona, “I'll be as gentle on you as possible, Sargona but it's in your best interest not to fight back.”
Sargona chose not to play ball and grabbed the lasso and with the power of the Ruby of Life, turned it against Champion. The lasso instantly seemed to have a mind of it’s own and began whipping Champion all over her body, infuriating her.
“That’s it, get mad,” thought Sargona.
“You are either a fool or you’ve gone mad from whatever is in that drug that the Sting Ray gave to you,” stated Champion as she eventually used her telepathic control over her lasso to subdue it. She counter attacked with a punch to the nose. Blood began pouring from Sargona’s nostrils.
“Bingo,” thought the daughter of Sargon and Zatanna. As much as she wanted to enact her plan immediately, she had to take care of Champion first. She quickly touched the ground below and caused a plethora of rock to shoot out at Champion, keeping her quite busy in defense with her magic bracelets. Sargona then kneeled down and wiped the blood from her nose and wrote “Laeh em” on the ground with it. Instantly, the drug was removed from her system and she could speak again. She stood up boldly and shouted,“Show’s over, Clea! Ynoclab espalloc! Clea and her minions came tumbling down to the ground from thirty feet above, temporarily stunning them. Sargona then spoke again, “SnatiT elbmessa ereh!”
Meanwhile, the Black Eel and King Shark had just finished dropping off Devil Ray in the dungeon and on their way back, Storm Surge cried out to the Black Eel, “I’ve figured out who you are traitor! Atlantis will never forgive you for this!”
“How about you DIE right now?” threatened the Black Eel as he fired a powerful electric blast at Storm Surge but luckily for the Prince of Atlantis, Sargona’s spell kicked in just in time and teleported him to the arena just before he was struck.
As Storm Surge, Jo Jo Gardner, and Quake arrived on the battlefield, Champion commented, “We’re united again.”
“United in death!” declared Clea as she pointed the Trident of Poesidon towards the Titans.
“Drop it!” ordered Quake as he used his powers to make Clea’s hands and the trident shake so violently that she couldn’t hold the mystical weapon any longer.
“We’ll take that,” Jo Jo Gardner said as he swiped the trident with his ring and presented it back to Storm Surge who smiled with gratification.
“NO!!!!!!!!! The trident is mine!!!!!!!!!!!” screeched Clea.
“We don’t need that trident to take care of these smelts,” spat King Shark as he raced towards the Titans.
“You’d need this and a lot more,” countered Storm Surge as he formed hard-water knuckles on both of his fists and met King Shark head-on, the two of them pummeling each other mercilessly. As brutal and strong as King Shark was, Storm Surge was no pushover either and his rage over seeing Atlantis taken over was fueling a fire in him like never before. Each of his blows was like dynamite going off. King Shark swore that even Superboy had never hit him this hard before. That was the last thing he thought before he faced a T.K.O. at Storm Surge’s unrelenting fury.
The Sting Ray was in Sargona’s face, ready for another fight.
“I’d pack up and run if I were you. I’m seriously ticked after that paralysis trick you pulled on me,” pointed out the raven-haired beauty.
“When have I ever ran from a fight?” reminded the daughter of Black Manta.
“So be it then,” accepted Sargona as her Ruby, eyes, and hands lit up like a fireworks display.
The Sting Ray found herself frozen in shock as she had never seen Sargona display this much power before. She came to her senses and began to flee but Sargona’s spell hit her like a semi-truck and took her out before she could move more than a few feet.
A ways away, Champion was busy taking on Clea, “Look at you, you’re pathetic! You’ve lost the trident, you allies are all but defeated, and still, you think you can win.”
“I have waited too long for Atlantis to be mine! I WILL NOT lose it now!” Clea shouted in a violent rage as she and Champion punched and kicked away at each other like female gladiators.
“Then you shall face another defeat,” sighed Champion as she grabbed Clea by the sides of the head and rammed her right knee into Clea’s forehead, leaving her dazed. As Clea wobbled about, another punch from Champion quickly sealed the Atlantean monarch’s defeat.
Meanwhile, Quake had made short work of the Marine Marauder who had tried to use an octopus to subdue him. He used his vibrational powers to push the beast several hundred feet away and then caused a statue to come crashing down on his foe, neutralizing her.
“You fools think you’ve won?” demanded the Black Eel. “I’ll simply take you all out the same way I did last time,” as he emitted a field of electricity.
“No you won’t,” countered Storm Surge as the Trident of Atlantis lit up and halted the flow of electricity in the water.
“Why aren’t my powers working?” growled the Black Eel.
“Because traitors never win!” shouted Storm Surge as he whacked his opponent on the side of the head with his trident, taking him down. “Now, let’s see if my suspicions are correct,” he said as he yanked off the Black Eel’s mask, “Yup – Jackson’s son. You lousy S.O.B.,” he whispered as he shook his head back and forth. “After all we’ve done for you! Your father will be so ashamed!”
Jo Jo Gardner created a temporary prison for the villains as the rest of the Titans of Justice freed the Atlantean officials and helped them restore order within Atlantis.

Later…
“Thank you for your help, my friends,” offered Storm Surge. “Atlantis will forever be in your debt.”
“Can we just get back to the surface already? I’d like to change into some dry clothes,” smiled Quake.
“Agreed, let’s go!” urged Sargona.

The Hall of Doom…
While the new Legion of Doom was in the midst of another meeting in hopes of devising a plan to destroy the Titans of Justice, the Sting Ray comes walking in as if nothing happened.
“What are you doing here, traitor?” asked Scream Queen, daughter of the Scarecrow. “You sold us out along with the rest of the world.”
The Sting Ray instantly blasted the Arkham escapee with her pressure-cannon and knocked her halfway across the room. “I’m back to take my spot on the team. Ask yourselves – isn’t it better to have me working with you again than for me to be against you?”
The eleven remaining members of the Legion of Doom sat quiet although dirty looks adorned all of their faces as they knew the daughter of Black Manta was right.
“Now, let’s proceed with our business….” Directed the Sting Ray.
THE END!
