It gets better once you get past that. It's a very flawed documentary but they get more into his career as it progresses.

Dear Mr. Watterson got me reading the whole thing, too. The collected edition is beautiful; everything's just so crisp and pretty.

It's not the complete set but I have two of the collections on my Kindle; very nice for a quick read when needed. Nothing picks me up like Calvin & Hobbes.
