Wonder Woman’s medical room, S.T.A.R. Labs…
Tom Tressor’s jaw dropped at Wonder Woman’s words. She had just revealed the truth about her son, Scott Trevor.
Steve Trevor stepped away from his wife’s bed. “Why…why are you saying this?” he gasped, turning pale.
Wonder Woman cried. Between sobs, she tried to get the words out of her mouth, but she was overcome.
Donna Troy took Steve’s arm. “Steve, it’s true. The blood you donated for Scott….it wasn’t a match…..I’m so sorry.” she said, her voice sincere.
Steve did not say a word. He turned and walked out of the room, slamming the door behind him.
Wonder Woman started to leave her bed. Donna stopped her.
“Let him go. Let him cool down.” Donna pleaded.
“But Donna…..” she sobbed.
Tom Tressor stared at the woman he had loved so many years ago. He should have looked older, but due to his interactions with meta humans and mystical energies, he didn’t look a day over 30. In fact, Donna was noticing how much alike Tom and Scott looked.
“Why…why didn’t you tell me? We could have---” Tom started.
“We could have done nothing! I love Steve. He is my husband! My true love! Besides, you left!! I did try to track you down, but it was as if you didn’t want to be found!” Wonder Woman shouted.
“Well, you didn’t look hard enough!! How could you do this? How could you keep me from my son?? D**n you!!”
Wonder Woman glared at Tom. Donna got between them.
“Tom, Scott needs you. We’ll sort this out later. Go to Illumina. She’ll draw your blood and get it to Scott. Please…”
Tom stood silent for a moment and exited to find Illumina.
Wonder Woman started to cry again. “What have I done?? My family….is falling apart. Today was supposed to be a great day for us….”
The former Wonder Girl held her sister and tried to figure out what to do.

In the emergency room, Steve Trevor burst into Scott’s room. Jem was sitting in a chair next to the bed, holding her husband’s hand. She noticed Steve looked agitated.
“Steve, what’s wrong? Did the doctors tell you something about Scott? She asked.
He did not reply. He stroked his son’s hair. A tear fell down his cheek. Jem heard him whisper, “My son, my boy…..” He stared at Scott for several moments and then left the room, leaving Jem very confused. Jem got up to follow him and was greeted by Champion.
“What happened? Dad just rushed by me--didn’t say a word. Are Mother and Scott worse?” Champion asked. She explained that the purple healing ray was not an option and how Paradise Island had been attacked. Jem told her about the missing baby. Champion became very angry.
“My nephew, missing??” She gasped. “This is the work of my mother’s enemies. It is all falling into place.”
“But Wildcard took my baby and nearly killed my sister. He never met any of your family except Scott.”
“Rest assured, Jerrica. Somehow my mother’s enemies are mixed up in this. The attack on the hospital, Paradise Island, and now, a kidnapping. I am going to find my aunt.” with that, Champion hurried off.
Tom Tressor found Illumina and quickly donated the needed blood. Within moments, she tested the blood and sure enough, Tom was a match for Scott. She even ran a DNA test to be double-sure and it matched 100%. She told this to Tom Tressor. He watched through the door as she began the blood transfusion. Jem wasn’t sure why Tom Tressor was standing there. At this point she didn’t care as Illumina was finally able to do something to help her husband.
“Jerrica, you are going to be need to be strong in the coming hours. For your son and your husband. For his entire family.” Illumina said.
Jem wasn’t quite sure what she meant. Illumina’s tone indicated there were other crises happening around her.
Champion rushed to her mother’s room.
“Why did I do this? Why did I lie? I lost sight of who I was….I compromised myself. My lasso…I used on so many people….and I couldn’t even tell my husband the truth about our son….and Tom….I let another man raise his son. Donna, Scott will hate me when he finds out that I lied to him….”
“What in Hera’s name did you say??” Champion demanded, her nostrils flaring.
“Mindy!” Donna gasped. “Mindy, calm down.”
“Did I just hear you correctly, Mother? Scott is not Dad’s??”
Diana stared at her daughter. Their relationship was strained as it was, much like Diana’s with her own mother most of her life.
“Yes, Mindy. It’s true. Every word of it.” Wonder Woman said, her head dropping.
“Has the entire world gone crazy?? Well, Mother did you know that Steven had been kidnapped by YOUR enemies? I think you are getting what you deserve for not eliminating your enemies when you had the chance. If our family falls apart today, Mother, it is your fault!!!!”
“Steven missing? Who dares lay a hand on my grandson?” Wonder Woman said, rising from her bed.
Champion explained the baby’s disappearance.
“Mindy, I can’t stop you from hating me but we need to pull together for young Steven’s sake. If my enemies are to get us once and for all, we must be united.”
“Some family.” Champion said. “I stand with you today, Mother. But today only. You are a liar, a failure.”
“Mindy, do not talk to her like that! She is your mother!” Donna snapped.
The three women argued as Corporal Marvel entered the room. He had never seen Champion so angry and the words she used at her mother made him very uncomfortable. He, Lilith, and Sargona had been able to pool their powers together and discover where the baby had been taken. Ares was hiding out in Tartarus. He came to tell them, but did not expect to see a family fracas.
He took a hard swallow as he thought to himself, “What I wouldn’t give to be at home hanging out with Hoppy right now.” “Ladies! Ladies, please!” he pleaded, taking Champion’s arm.
“TAKE. YOUR. HAND. OFF. ME!” Champion snarled. “Believe me, Corporal, the mood I am in, I’d as soon chop your arm off as to look at you!”
“Mindy! That is enough! You are an Amazon and no matter what you think of me, I am still your queen!” Wonder Woman demanded, quieting her rebellious daughter. “Corporal Marvel, what brings you here?”
Corporal Marvel was a bit intimidated by Wonder Woman. She was a commanding presence and he had never seen Champion shut down so completely.
“Uh, well…Queen…uh… Wonder Woman…we found your grandson. He’s in Tartarus. Ares and your old enemies have him. An enemy of Jem’s is there too, Wildcard.”
“I see. Thank you, young man. I trust you will be assembling your teammates to assist in charging Tartarus.” Wonder Woman said.
“I…” Corporal Marvel stammered. “Yes, ma’am. Right away.”
Back in Wonder Man’s room, he was quickly coming around much to Jem’s relief. Tom Tressor had left the room.
Wonder Man looked up at Jem.
“Feel like a ton of bricks just him me….or how I felt that morning in Vegas…” he joked.
Jem smiled and hugged her husband. She sobbed as he held her in his rapidly healing arms. She explained all that had happened. Scott struggled to his feet.
“Scott, what are you doing?” she asked. She noticed he was bleeding through the bandages wrapped around his torso.
“I am going to save my son. If I was missing, I know Dad would not stop until he found me. AGH!!” he doubled over in pain.
“Scott, lie back down!”
“No. We have to go now. The whole family or just you and me. Our son needs us, babe. I can take care of myself. Watch.”
Jem watched as her husband Wonder-spinned into his battle armor. He looked like an ancient gladiator and even more handsome than usual. She knew he only wore the armor in the direst of situations and that her husband was prepared to do battle.
Within moments, Wonder Man and Jem were rushing to Wonder Woman’s room.
“Scott! Thank Zeus!” Wonder Woman cried, hugging her son. She noticed his armor.
“I guess Jerrica told you.” She asked.
“She did. We have to go…we have to find him.” Wonder Man said. Tom Tressor entered the room.
“Where’s Dad?” Scott asked.
Wonder Woman nervously glanced at Tom.
Champion smirked and started, “He’s--”
Donna interrupted. “He’s taking care of some business, the Department of Meta Human Affairs is working with him to secure the Veteran’s Hospital and coordinate intel on our enemies.
All of those assembled knew now was not the time to tell Wonder Man about the exposed secret.
Minutes passed and everyone was assembled in a conference room in S.T.A.R. Labs.
Illumina, Green Lantern, Black Orchid, Corporal Marvel, and Sargona all sat together. Green Lantern noticed tension between the Wonder Family, but assumed it was due to the attack and the missing baby.
Wonder Man and Champion were coordinating the plan of attack and explaining to Sargona and Lilith that they would be key in traveling to Tartarus.
“Lilith, you will remain here. Sargona will need to focus on you to bring us back.” Wonder man said.
“You’ve got it.” the pretty redhead smiled. She was trying to remain calm, but her ESP had already revealed what was troubling the Wonder Family.
“Green Lantern, I hope that ring is charged to the max. You are one of the bravest and strong willed among us.” Wonder Man said to the emerald warrior.
“You can count on me.” Green Lantern replied. He did not believe in the ancient Greek gods, but helping his friend and saving the life of a child was priority.
Champion spoke. “Black Orchid, you and Corporal Marvel along with the rest of us will be the brute strength. Illumina, your light based powers are perfect for the dark realms where we are going. No matter what you see or hear, do not let your light fail.”
“I am here to help and see this through, my friend,” the daughter of the second Dr. Light said.
They all started discussing their plan of attack as Tom Tressor approached Wonder Woman.
“I want to go with you.”
“Tom, you can’t. You have no super human powers. Please, I have caused you enough pain for today.”
“That’s my son and my grandson. I’m going whether you like it or not.”
Wonder Woman half smiled. “Ok, Tom. I admire your spirit. When we return, there will be lots to talk about.
Outisde, Steve Trevor had found a quiet park. He sat next to a fountain, a blank expression on his face. He felt like someone had ripped his heart out and stomped on it. He looked up at the American flag, flying proudly in the sky. He remembered the day he crashed on Paradise Island. He remembered falling in love at first sight at the Princess Diana. He remembered her defying her mother to enter the contest. He buried his hands and let himself cry. Not just tears, but a full on cry.
Just then, he felt something wrap around his neck. He struggled as someone jerked him to the ground. He managed to turn and look up.
“I expected more of a fight from such an American military legend! Ha, you are a weakling!”
Before he could react, her boot slammed into his face, knocking him unconscious.
The attacker spoke into a gauntlet with a swastika on it. “Herr Ares, TRANSPORT ME NOW!” the woman known as Fausta spoke in a thick German accent as she and Steve Trevor disappeared.
