The Titans of Justice Satellite…
The twin Scarlet Speedsters known as the Flash of Earth 1 and Lightspeed of Earth 2 had just stepped off of the Cosmic Treadmill after transporting their satellite from Vanishing Point to a portion of space that exists in between Earths 1 and 2.
“Nice work, guys,” congratulated Power Guy. “Here’s some water for you both,” he said as he handed both speedsters a bottle of the ice cold beverage. Power Guy was known for always taking care of his teammates even down to the little things like making sure they had plenty of food and beverages after a hard day's work.
“I just hope we’ll be safer here than we were in Vanishing Point as I’m sure Snow Devil has told everyone in his cell block where our satellite used to be situated,” worried the Flash, aloud.
“Well, we can on do so much,” pointed out Green Lantern as he piped up after being quite for the last several minutes. “Most of the Justice League’s headquarters were found at one point or another,”
“And the first time, it was found by The Joker!” The Huntress said, adding to the conversation.
The electronic doors to the meeting room opened as Constellation and Blue Dolphin made their way inside.
“Have you ladies had any luck finding Tsunami and Neptune Perkins?” asked Lightspeed, knowing that the two younger members of the Society of Titans had been scanning Earth 2 for the last several hours.
“NOPE!” spat Blue Dolphin, angrily. “It’s like they and Wyvern just disappeared.”
“I had Terrifica send out her T-spheres to all of Wyvern’s old hideouts but they came up empty,” explained Constellation.
“If only we knew where that portal took him,” wished Power Guy.
“I think I know of someone who could be of some help…” The Huntress said as she walked over to the monitor and signaled her contact.
A few minutes later, Kid Comet arrived, eager to help as always. “Sorry I’m late. I had scone batter all over my hands and had to wash up before I suited up.”
“You’re here now and that’s what matters,” smiled Green Lantern.
“Who is this dude and what can he do?” Blue Dolphin asked, skeptical as usual.
“His name is Kid Comet and he’s a telepath,” answered The Huntress. “I’m hoping he can pick up your grandparents’ mental signatures.”
“Has he even MET either of them?” challenged the blue-skinned teen.
“No, I haven’t but if you’d allow me to scan your memories of them, I may be able to pick up their trail.”
“There is no way I’m letting some boy probe my mind!” Blue Dolphin said, outraged a bit. “He’ll probably search for what I look like naked or try and find out if I’m a virgin or not.”
Constellation put her right hand on fellow teenager’s shoulder and tried reasoning with her, “Dolphin, stop it. Nothing else we’ve tried has worked. If this guy can help, we’ve got to take that chance.”
“We’ve got to take that cha-ance,” Blue Dolphin said as she mimicked Constellation and rolled her eyes. “Well, I guess if Miss Goody-two-shoes here thinks it might work, I should give it a shot but make sure you only read my clean thoughts, chap.”
“Dolphin, he’s not going to get all pervy with you. He’s gay,” pointed out the star-spangled teen.
“Really?” Blue Dolphin said as she cocked an eyebrow. “No wonder why you smell so good. You must wear the same cologne as TNT. Remind me to hook you two up when this is all over.”
“Uhh……ok,” replied Kid Comet, not quite sure of what to say about that idea. “If you don’t mind, I’d like to put my hands on the sides of your head. It will help me to stabilize the mental link.”
“Such a gentleman, aren’t you?” teased Blue Dolphin. “Yup…..you’re gay. Go ahead, Comet-boy.”
A few minutes after Kid Comet initiated his mental link with Blue Dolphin, he began to soar though her memories of Tsunami and Neptune Perkins. In spite of how rude this girl was and all of the trouble she’d caused in the last several years, she had a soft spot for her grandparents. They had often spoiled her and made her feel like she was a princess. Kid Comet could tell that even though she wasn’t showing it, the fact that her grandparents were taken by Wyvern was eating her up inside. Kid Comet strained his relatively new mental abilities and focused on some of the more important times Blue Dolphin had shared with Tsunami and Neptune Perkins until he was able to latch on to the string he was searching for. Sweat poured off of his forehead as he announced, “I found Tsunami! She’s on Earth X!”
“Earth X?” asked the Flash. “Why the heck would Wyvern bring her and Neptune Perkins there?”
“You may not know this about Wyvern, Flash,” began The Huntress, “But he’s the grandson of the Japenese Axis agent known as the Dragon King. On Earth 2, the Dragon King is the one responsible for utilizing the Spear of Destiny to keep the allied mystery-men out of Axis-territory during World War II.”
“So he probably went to Earth X to find some new Axis buddies?” asked the son of Barry and Iris Allen.
“I’m guessing there’s much more to it,” presumed the daughter of the Dark Knight and Catwoman.
“The Huntress is most likely right,” agreed Constellation. “While Wyvern is significantly powerful, he’s not able to create teleportational portals like the one he used to escape. Plus, even if he did find out about Earth X on his own, he would know that if he went there, he couldn’t take on the entire Titans of Freedom by himself. He’s got to be working with someone or someones.”
“Lightspeed, see if you can get in touch with Uncle Sam and ask him if he or the other Titans of Freedom have seen Wyvern….” instructed Power Guy.
Lightspeed was at the communications console in no time and quickly reported back with, “Neither Sam nor any of the other Titans of Freedom are answering my message but let me see if I can reach Firebrand. She was headed to Earth X this afternoon to meet up with Phantom Lady and Miss America for lunch.”

Washington D.C., Earth X…
Minutes earlier, the enslaved Titans of Freedom had hunted down their former leader, Uncle Sam. Firebrand had arrived on the scene and tried to help diffuse the situation but she and Uncle Sam were no match for the mind-controlled Titans. Once the two of them were subdued, Miss America used her matter-manipulation powers to disintegrate Uncle Sam’s body.
“Dear Lord, Joan! What have you done!” chastised Firebrand as she struggled to get free of the Living Doll and Magno’s grips.
Miss America did not answer. She simply looked down at the pile of dust in front of her that used to be Uncle Sam’s body. Her body began to shake and her eyes welled up with tears right before she exclaimed, “Oh my God! No! I killed him! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” All of a sudden, her body glowed so brightly it blinded everyone that was looking at her.
As Firebrand and the others regained their sight, they noticed that Miss America had transformed herself back to normal. The shock over killing Uncle Sam had broken the Silver Ghost’s control over her just enough for her to use her powers to reverse the villain’s metamorphosing touch. Before the captive Titans of Freedom realized what exactly was going on, Miss America changed them all back to their old selves.
“The Silver Ghost and his allies will pay dearly for what they’ve done,” vowed the Black Condor with gritted teeth.
The intensity of the moment intensified when Miss America collapsed to the ground. Hermes raced over to her and cradled her in his arms, “Miss A – are you ok?”
“J……j….just weak,” mumbled the veteran heroine. “Changing you all back drained me quite a bit.”
“You just rest, Joan,” directed Firebrand.
The Black Condor walked over and pulled a vile from his pocket, “Here, Joan, drink this. It will help you to sleep and regain your strength,” he said as he put the vile up to her mouth and helped her drink the ancient Indian medicine within it.
“What did you give her?” asked Phantom Lady, curious and concerned at the same time.
“It is an ancient remedy for healing from my tribe,” answered the Indian warrior. “It will help to heal her body and her mind after what she did today.”
“She’s going to need all of the help she can get,” frowned Firebrand.
“Hermes, can you take her somewhere safe and then meet up with us?” asked Phantom Lady as Hermes nodded and did as he was asked.
As Phantom Lady was talking, Firebrand was intercepting Lightspeed’s message and began filling him in with what was going on. Magno walked over to the wife of the Shining Knight and filled her in on the details she was not aware of. The two of them concluded that Firebrand must have teleported to Earth X before Dark Angel put her spell into place to keep all others off of the Axis-run world.
Lightspeed took everything in and told Firebrand that he and the other Titans would find a way to help the Titans of Freedom as soon as possible.

Back on the TOJ satellite, the grandson of Jay Garrick relayed the information he had just been given to his teammates, hoping they could figure out a way to get to Earth X so they could help their comrades.
“I’m going to try reaching Dr. Fate,” offered Constellation. “When the Monster Society took down the Squadron of Titans on Earth S, Dr. Fate was able to pierce Ogar’s spell so we could help in taking the Society down. Maybe he can do the same with whatever Dark Angel has whipped up?”
“Good idea, cousin,” smiled Power Guy. He and the star-spangled teen were related through his father and Sherry’s grandmother being siblings.
A few moments later, Constellation informed her teammates, “I didn’t have any luck. Fate must be off in some other dimension battling Woton or Dr. Chaos or something.”
Champion then spoke up, “I just tried one of the teleport tubes, just in case, and it couldn’t establish a connection with Earth X.”
Power Guy then turned to the Scarlet Speedster of Earth 1 and asked, “Flash, what about the Cosmic Treadmill?”
“Actually, while you blinked last, Lightspeed and I tried to use the Treadmill to get to Earth X and no luck there either.”
“Does anyone have any other suggestions?” asked Power Guy as he surveyed the group.
An unfamiliar voice then filled the room, “Would you be willing to accept the help of a stranger?” followed by a more familiar voice who said, “And the help of someone a bit more familiar?”
The Titans of Justice turned to see the Phantom Stranger accompanied by Sargona.
“You….you’re the Phantom Stranger, the Stranger’s mentor,” Green Lantern said, recalling a conversation he had with the Stranger a while back. “What are you doing here? I thought you had retired and were at peace?”
The mysterious man showed very little emotion on his face as usual and replied with, “Once my protégé was murdered by the new Legion of Doom, my rest was brought to an end. It seems I have betrayed yet another man and lead him to his death.” Though he felt incredibly guilty for what had happened to his legacy, he knew there was a greater concern at hand, which is why he had come to aid the Titans of Justice today. “I find it necessary to take up his work, which is why I am here today. As some of you know, the Stranger banished Dark Angel at the end of your last encounter with her. He had threatened to use the object on her she fears most: the Spear of Destiny,” he said as he pulled the spear from his cloak.
“What are you doing with that?” asked Green Lantern, very concerned. With him being a pastor of the Christian faith and knowing it was used to kill Jesus centuries prior, the site of the spear disgusted him.
“Calm yourself, Daniel Jordan,” advised the Phantom Stranger. “I know of the blood that was shed with this spear. Fear not, it shall not fall into the hands of the wicked again. In fact, I hope to use it today to balance the scales of good and evil in light of its history.”
“That spear should be burned to ashes!” Green Lantern shouted, upset, and pointing at the relic.
“Dan, try to settle down and focus on the bigger picture of the moment,” urged Sargona to her former boyfriend. She knew how much the site of the spear troubled him and even though they were not a couple any longer, she did not want to see him so upset.
“I’m not upset. Just disgusted,” Green Lantern said, bluntly. “I will be happy once this mission is over with and that spear is far away from here or burned to ashes like I suggested.”
“Very well then, let us journey to Earth X,” directed the Phantom Stranger as his cloak grew large and enveloped all in the room, taking them to the Axis-traumatized planet.
