Any example of a well executed frontage? Or, if you meant, a well-executed frontpage, here's one: www.stashmycomics.com/

I will note that when I peek at the CBR classics & collected, a thing that annoys me is a thing that annoys me about most forums, but was never true of the classics forum: The threads started by CBR news that just link to articles on the front page feel like spam and clutter. While not quite what you're suggesting, I fear that direction. That's actually what it would probably look like. I can't think of a less disruptive way to dedicate a discussion thread attached to an article or review. What we could do better is have a preview of the article or review in the OP so that it isn't a one line solicitation.

I meant a well-executed proBoards frontpage Why would it need to be done in proboards? Any webpage can link to this site.

If it's hosted somewhere else, won't the weight that webpage has, be what determines google's search results?

If it's hosted somewhere else, won't the weight that webpage has, be what determines google's search results? Yes, and that can be a good thing. We can go with a remote host that tends to rank higher on google searches or even look into having someone host it directly for us. This is not an area of expertise for me, but I'm relatively sure that remote hosting as an end-user usually hinders search results. Also, we can't control our own meta-tags or place key words in the coding to boost our results on google searches with proboards. We would have that ability with any website frontpage we built ourselves, regardless of the host.

Why not just have something simple like reviews of new reprints or books about classic comics on front page.

If that's a GOOD front page, I'd had to see a bag one... that hurt my head just looking at it. I can't imagine frequenting such a page... far to busy and confusing.

Any example of a well executed frontage? The Horror Movie Fans message board front page while I don't much care for the zombie artwork I think is essentially what shax is talking about. www.horrormoviefans.com/Just a thought maybe we could have rotating artwork on the front page. Possibly even something contributed from the community.

I like that one alot better (though most of the links don't work) style wise.

Why not just have something simple like reviews of new reprints or books about classic comics on front page. I have no idea if it would be necessary or useful, but we could do this with amazon links, and thus raise a bit of money for the site (via Amazon's referral program). I bet between all of us someone buys most of the new trade releases that come out, and we could certainly supplement with less new things.

Here's my idea for a blog:
Get seven people who are interested in old comics, and each of them commits to posting one day a week. ... Anybody else interested? Sign me up. I'd love to do a weekly post on my latest crazy theory about the Fantastic Four. I don't know if there would be a market for my stuff though: it's pretty deep. For example, this week I'm exploring the concept of a "radical cube" in dimensional portals (see FF 51) and have some interesting (to me) replies from mathematics boards. And next week I expect to pass the 200 mark for tribute covers to FF issue 1. I don't really have anywhere to post that stuff other than to update existing pages on my own site.

Some seem a little bit forced, but 200 are a lot, anyway.
