Miami...The Wine and Food Festival…

“Now for you two wimps.”, called out the female Paragon.






“Give it your best shot!”, barked Dark Arrow as he raised his bow, aimed a concussion arrow at his foe, and sent it hurling toward her.





“Oh a comedian is in our midst, I see. Maybe you can slay the audience with your jokes but I’ll be the one to slay them and you.”, cackled the yellow hooded villainess. The Huntress followed Robert Queen’s lead and also sent a barrage of arrows at this vile female.

Paragon effortlessly caught both hero’s arrows, sending them straight back at Dark Arrow. Within seconds they were inches from the archer and he had no choice but to muster the energy to use his sonic bellow before the arrow’s pierced his heart. As painful as that power was to use, it gave him a slight chance of survival as the concussive arrow exploded sending him flying backward into the stage causing severe internal injuries and knocking him unconscious and barely breathing.

The Huntress was the only one left to deal with this new menace and she realized that she needed to try a different approach than direct confrontation. The daughter of Batman and Catwoman tried to put her psychological detective skills of redirection to use to try and get inside Paragon’s head and distract her enough to try and gain the upper hand.

Huntress began posing question to Paragon. “Well looks like you’ve got me where you want me. If I’m going to die by your hands I'd at least like to know why? What possible motive could you have to attack the Titans. And why name yourself after a Justice League villain that barely made a blip on the radar of all the villains out there?”





“You really must think me to be stupid, Huntress. I know what you're actually trying to do, but if you really must know…it’s nothing you or your cohorts have done except for the keeping of some of the wrong company.”, she said in a cold tone.

“Wrong company? And why come after us and not him?” asked Huntress trying to keep Paragon distracted long enough to reach for her Bat-a-rang.

“Yes, wrong company, indeed. One of your own teammates. The man known as Apotheosis is the one I want. Oh I shall see him suffer for what he’s done to my family!”, exclaimed the female villain. “I’ve been tracking him and his movements for sometime now. I want him to feel such pain and by going after those he cares for, I will destroy him!”

“I can’t believe Apotheosis would have intentionally done anything to bring pain and suffering to your family or to anyone’s for that matter?” fired back the daughter of Batman.

“You’re dead wrong! He’s been smearing and dishonoring my father’s reputation and legacy since he first appeared! And I intend to see that rectified with his destruction!” howled the new Paragon.

“What are you babbling about Paragon?” questioned the Huntress.

“My father, you deaf witch! One of the most fearsome foes to have ever faced the Justice League and single-handedly take them out one by one. I speak of none other that the pure and evil genius…Prometheus!”, hissed Paragon.

Huntress flung her Bat-a-rang at Paragon as she ranted incessantly and awed at what had just been revealed leaving her head spinning with all the unknown details.

“Did you really think I wouldn’t notice your little maneuver you were trying to pull?” exclaimed the daughter of Prometheus as she back-flipped out of harm’s way and snatched the Bat-weapon from the air. Leaping forward with acrobatic precision she hurled it straight at the heart of the Huntress calling out “Your time ends now!”.

The Huntress had no time to react as the Bat-a-rang was mere seconds from sending her to the grave.

Just then a beam shot down from the sky deflecting the razor-sharp Bat-a-rang from annihilating it’s rightful owner. Starman had arrived on the scene with Storm Surge and Apotheosis right behind him.

“Huntress what’s going on here?”, queried the son of Prince Gavyn.





“Quick version…..psycho daughter of a super-villain, wants revenge on Apotheosis and hell-bent on our destruction.”, exclaimed the daughter of Batman and Catwoman. “Be careful though, she’s a tough nut and has killed three of us already”.

“Don’t worry we’ll have this wrapped up in no time”, announced Starman.

“Ooooh more playthings for me” cooed the daughter of Prometheus. “And the one I wanted here the most to toy with. Excellent!”.

“Storm Surge, how about a little water works for our new friend here. Apotheosis tend to our wounded teammates.”, ordered the man from the stars.

Moments later the tides of the nearby Atlantic Ocean began to swell to unimaginable heights.





“Again you fools think it’s easy to get rid of me. I’ll have to teach you that isn’t the case”, hissed Paragon.

As Apotheosis reached his friends, he was in complete shock realizing they was no movement and no breath coming from any of them. He thought to himself this mad-woman wearing an almost identical costume to my father's has killed them all. Instantly and anger fueled inside him and those urges he had been having to kill boiled to the surface becoming so intense he lost all control of his senses and raced to kill this new villain to satisfy his hunger.

Starman fired shot after shot from his Cosmic Rod. Paragon expertly dodged each and every one of them. Leaping into the air she grabbed the staff and used leverage to her advantage to throw Starman off balance and send him slamming into the ground.

She claimed the Cosmic Rod in victory and turned her attention to Storm Surge who was ready to unleash a tidal wave upon this evil female.

“Now for you, fish stick!”, sneered Paragon as she somehow figured out how to work Starman’s staff and blasted the son of Aquaman and Mera with pure intense solar energy setting him on fire.

“What the hell are you!”, shouted the son of Prince Gavyn.

“I am Paragon!, I am the daughter of Prometheus, and I am your Death!”, Paragon howled as she picked up Storm Surge’s trident as he was slumped in agony with his flesh and muscle melting from his bones. She hoisted her new trophy and slammed it into Starman’s chest.

Apotheosis arrived just as the trident pierced the heart of his teammate and blood spewed from the wounds pooling around the dying hero.

With his heart pounding and his head throbbing with the urges to destroy he tried to use any of the heroes powers that he could from this field of death. However his powers couldn’t pick up any life signs of powers to use from any of them. He’d have to rely on his own two hands and the training that he had been given by the Titans.

“That tears it you wretch! You’re going to pay with your own life now that you’ve murdered all these good people who are my friends!”, yelled the son of the original Paragon.





“Oh really my dear sweet Jared…I think not”, Paragon whispered in an icy cold tone.

Hearing this vile creature use his real name stopped Apotheosis in his tracks and snapped him back into reality.

“How do you know…”, Jared questioned unsteadily.

“It has been quite awhile hasn’t it?” as Paragon pulled down her hood revealing her stark white tresses. “Too long perhaps for you not to recognize your own cousin”.

“C…Cor…Cori Calhoun! Oh my God! Why would you do this? And why would you assume my father’s old identity?” question Apotheosis.

The daughter of Prometheus fired back, “Oh you dare ask me that! When you have been ruining my father’s own legacy, using most of his old costume and going around pretending to be a hero. You are destroying what he stood for. His legacy of…”.

“What are you talking about? I found these in some old chest that you all left behind in that old house you all lived in when my father was in prison. You disappeared from our neighborhood without any word as to where you had went”, exclaimed Apotheosis.

“Liar! You’re going to pay dearly for everything!” hollered Paragon.

The ground rumbled and moments later water came crashing all around the area as the tidal wave that Storm Surges had been calling forth had lost all control when his life ceased. The waves swept both Paragon and Apotheosis away as both had been caught off guard.
