I loved Ostrander's Legacy series and his two Agent of Empire minis (Bond meets Star Wars essentially), but was only meh on Dawn of the Jedi, even though it featured Duursema's art, which I really like. I haven't read much of his other SW material though.

Alright, I haven't actually read that much of Ostrander's Star Wars - I (A) didn't know that he did more than one series, and (B) forget what series I read. I should probably re-check into it some day.
Side-note: Jason Aaron is by far my favorite Marvel writer right now - he even did an X-men book I quite liked, which is basically a miracle. Now that he got his requisite, terrible, crossover series out of the way, I'm hoping his Star Wars will be good.
The two Mark Waid series were Ireedemable and Incorruptable. It might take me 24 hours to remember stuff, but I get there eventually!

Ireedemable is the one I read... it's the 'Main' one, where the Superman analogue goes crazy and destroys the Metropolis analogue.. Incorruptable is (I think), a parallel story of a former villain that helps the good guys or something (never got that far).
I like Aaron, too, though I'm not really feeling the female Thor.. it's a little too in your face for me. I agree his X-books were great, though, and the previous Thor volume was amazing.
