I am not a person that has ever liked comic adaptations. But, WOW, Star wars saved Marvel comics in the 70's and it appears that they are doing it again. I read somewhere that Princess Leia #1 sold 250,000 . That's blowing every other comic out of the water.

And they're good books to boot too, especially Princess Leia.

All my Marvel purchases are Star Wars comics.

I'm getting four Marvel books a month right now, with two of them being Star Wars and Darth Vader. Not sure about Princess Leia, but I've heard some good things, so I may start picking that one up as well.

I'm curious, how were Star Wars comics selling when they were being published by Dark Horse?

I'm curious, how were Star Wars comics selling when they were being published by Dark Horse? They were among Dark Horses top sellers, but were not selling at anywhere near the level they have sold since they came to Marvel. -M

Waid's threeboot Legion wasn't great. I also didn't like his first run on the Legion. And his X-Men work, though there was some heavy editorial interference there. Also, but I'm in the minority there, I disliked his Doctor Strange mini from a couple of years ago.

I agree though that Mark Waid is a very solid, bankable writer. I've liked most of his stuff.

Invincible and Uninhabitable or whatever the hell those were called didn't do anything for me, and I *never* hear them mentioned when Waid's name is brought up. So I suspect there aren't many fans out there, period. And I'm really not digging his Hulk run. Is he still on the Hulk? I read the first couple volumes and they just kind of... existed.
Side note: Speaking of normally really solid writers. Y'know what else did nothin' for me? Ostrander's Star Wars.
Also, God, what am I even doing in the new comics section. I haven't read any of this crap. Talk to me in 8 months when the trade shows up at the library.

One thing that has so far impressed me about the three new Marvel Star Wars titles is that at least so far they are pretty continuity tight. I'm sure success will spoil the soup but there are some pretty subtle ties so far a few issues in that I really hope they can keep together. I also hope John Cassaday does more than six issues of Star Wars but he's never been able to really do more than that in a row without big breaks of time.
I'm 31 issues into Star Wars: Legacy and it's a solid read. The wacky character names in Star Wars always crack me up, but it's a pretty good adventure comic.

I assumer you mean Irredeemable (and it's sister series I don't remember the name of)... it was OK, but it's really just a riff on Empire... basically what if Superman turned evil. It's a fun concept and starts well, but it didn't need to go 50+ issues. OStrander is, IMO, hands down the best Star Wars comic writer... the tales/dawn of the Jedi stuff is great, and the legacy stuff (What I've read) is good, too... mostly I haven't read more because the timeline is confusing.
