Why doesn't DC have a site where you can download their massive library like Marvel does? What are they waiting for?

I'd be into that as well. I love Marvel Unlimited.

I haven't tried Marvel Unlimited, mostly because I'm not a huge Marvel fan and what I do like I already own but I'd love to be able to browse all of say Batman's back issue library, or kamandi.

DC has an odd business model for digital right now. I noticed recently when Scribd announced that they were offering digital comics, that Marvel was on it yet DC wasn't.

That would be awesome. I've been waiting for DC Unlimited for a while. Anyway, I cancelled my Marvel Unlimited subscription because it no longer is readable on Kindle, so if DC ever does offer something, I hope this won't be the case.

When compared to Marvel, DC is behind the curve in many ways. Charging an extra dollar for a digital code and not offering a similar all-you-can-read access to their digital archives makes it seem like they don't even want to compete in this area. Maybe this part of some weird strategy to differentiate themselves from Marvel and avoid seeming like they are taking too many cues from them. That certainly seems like what they are doing with their movies. "Let's differentiate ourselves from the competition by doing things that suck!"
I used to have a Kindle, and while I generally liked it, I started to get really annoyed by the dumbed-down version of Android that they installed, which prevented you from running a lot of common apps that are otherwise available on Android or iOS. You either had to jump through some hoops to get them working, or they would work unreliably, or not at all. The straw that broke the camel's back was Marvel Unlimited. Since then I've switched to iPad and have been much happier with the tablet experience.
