And also Hawkman, but the character limit for thread titles is absurdly short on this board for some reason.
Anyway, the first half is pretty great. Although I REALLY want better reprints of the Golden Age Hawkman, Green Lantern, and Flash. Kurt says the first few Flash strips are fairly prosiac and boring, strongly implies that the Golden Age GA didn't really take off 'till Alfred Bester started writing, and that Hawkman artist Everett Raymond Kinstler work on Hawkman was the best of any All-American book.
I do wish it was a little longer, though. I got Back Issue at the same time, and they go into much greater detail in their half of the crossover, dealing with with the (less interesting to me) Bronze Age versions of the characters.
Side Note: Heh. My Pull List now has more magazines ABOUT comics on it than mainstream comics.

Yeah, I like the history of comics even better than the comics themselves.
Still love comics, but it's more about the story behind the story and the people that really interests me.
Congrats on the article Kurt !
Money is extremely tight now, but I'll def be getting the issue.
I love the entire TwoMorrows line. They're unmatched !

You wish it was a little longer, Repti??? It took eight months to research as it was! Anyhow, if anyone is interested, I did an interview a week or so back with Chad Bokelman for his Green Lantern podcast. If you'd care to hear my dulcet tones expounding on the Golden Age of DC, check it out at LanternCastCei-U! I summon the stardom!

A humble celebrity? What a novelty. Clearly you're not a Kardashian.

I'm not sure the Bronze Age Flash article in Back Issue was longer, but it definitely felt longer than your article, and covered much less material. I wanted more of you!

I didn't know Kinstler ever drew Hawkman--or any superhero for that matter.

He drew the Hawkman stories in Flash Comics #87 and 89, as well as the cover to #87.

I didn't know Kinstler ever drew Hawkman--or any superhero for that matter. Me too. I'd never even heard of him until I was at SDCC in 2007 and he was sitting next to Carmine Infantino. He said he'd done a lot of pulp covers and later painted the Presidents' portraits.

I didn't know Kinstler ever drew Hawkman--or any superhero for that matter. That's what I thought too. It wasn't until I met him at SDCC in 2007 that I'd even heard of him. He said he'd mostly done pulp covers and later painted portraits of the Presidents. His work was extremely good. I'd love to see his Hawkman !

Oh, yeah, Kinstler's great. But I think all the comic work I've seen by him has been westerns or crime.

This makes four Alter Ego lead articles - congrats, Kurt!
I got to see a sneak preview of the article in progress so I know how good it is.
Kurt, did you get the email I sent the other day where Roy says nice things about you?
