I think we can discuss the man's policies, ethics, and behaviors, without taking cheap shots at his appearance/health.

I think we can discuss the man's policies, ethics, and behaviors, without taking cheap shots at his appearance/health. Possibly. And if that's what you want I'll do it. But it wasn't made as a cheap shot. It was a view of his personality based upon factors that are evident. Body type can be a contributing factor to psychological development.

I've been out of the Moderator business for eight months now, Slam. I'm not making you do anything. However, I think that, when we resort to such things, we compromise the integrity of our critiques. There's a lot wrong with Christie as a candidate. Let's discuss those things incisively on the off chance that we might change someone's mind who is reading this, rather than just fanning flames by taking cheap shots. Yes, he's a bully. Chalking that up to his weight is one of many possibilities, but it's also offensive, and I wouldn't tolerate someone talking that way about a candidate I supported.

Pataki seems the most like a normal person and Kasich isn't nearly as bad as JEB!
I also don't think Chris Christie would be a total disaster as a president. Christie's a lot better than JEB!
As a former Jersey boy who still keeps close ties with the Garden State, I must respectfully disagree with you about Christie. The supposed charm of his shoot-from-the-hip tough talk lasts until you realize he's a lying bully whose political "philosophy" is straight from the GOP playbook: scapegoat the unions, the teachers, and the various and sundry "takers" with a lot of posturing out of Dirty Harry and bombast a la Limbaugh. He's a venal, thin-skinned, Nixonian who I have no doubt was exactly the same kind of manipulative egotist in high school. He is Trump Lite (so to speak) and would have been exposed as such had the Donald not entered the race. We still seem to be on the same page. Being a lot better than JEB! is still a pretty low bar.
I give Christie a few points for not being a Jesus humper and also he's not as bad on social issues as most of the other GOP scum.
But it's kind of like arguing over whether leprosy is worse than the black plague or if elephantiasis is worse than scarlet fever.

Early estimates put tonight's Sanders rally at TWENTY FIVE THOUSAND PEOPLE.
20k indoors, 5k more outside the stadium.
Largest campaign rally this early in an election cycle in American history.

As far as the qualities of the GOP playing field, I'm not even concerned. I don't see them having a chance this election, at all.

Well, when you put it that way...

I think we can discuss the man's policies, ethics, and behaviors, without taking cheap shots at his appearance/health. While we're on the subject, can we keep the shots at religion somewhat respectful? Granted, when a candidate drags his religion into the political race as if it's an endorsement, criticism is fair game. But perhaps we could avoid terms that offend normal people who are religious (ie. "Jesus humper").

This article explores what little Trump has said that approaches policy statements. After reading the article I concluded that his policies on how he would get things done could be boiled down to an expression from my Navy days: PFM. Translation: Pure F'ing Magic.
While at the Wisconsin state fair on Saturday, I actually saw two people wearing Trump for President t-shirts. Probably the funniest and saddest things I saw all day.

Unfortunately, the majority of Americans aren't interested in policies.
And, sadder still, it's because politicians don't have a great track record of sticking to their stated policies anyway.

If Joe Biden enters the race, is his hair plugs fair game?

My wife and I were discussing the current slate of potentials on both sides of the aisle over coffee yesterday morning and came to the conclusion that we're probably not voting next year. It's such an uninspiring collection of entrenched insiders (Hilary Clinton, Joe Biden) and whackadoodles (Bernie Sanders, pretty much the entire Republican ensemble) that we just can't see taking the time to go out and cast a ballot that implies that we endorse one of these folks and their party's platform.
If only Canada weren't so cold, I think I could probably convince her to move there at this point.
