He's a soulless lout and a buffoon.
The biggest liar I've ever seen and the worst president in history.
God help the nation.

So the confirmation hearings of the last week or so have inspired me to attempt one of those old MAD Magazine song parodies. This one is sung to the tune of Roxy Music's 1982 hit Avalon (reproduced below for those who may have understandably forgotten it). Here goes:
Now the party leaders Have their nominee, And your confirmation's A formality. Then an allegation Sets in motion Much prevarication, some emotion
Kavanaugh
When your high school yearbook Is your alibi, And 100 kegs can't Drown your lies. Yes, the story coming From your classmates Illustrates a drunken Reprobate.
Kavanaugh
Hopes of affirmation Seem so bleak. High Court confirmation Is no "Beach Week."

All I'm saying is that I don't think the White House and Congress could do a better job of making Kavenaugh look guilty if they were trying to do it on purpose. Who is their strategist, Bizarro?

I know this most recent NY Times piece is more comprehensive, since they got a hold of a lot of previously undisclosed documents, but is any of this really surprising? I recall seeing the first news pieces (either on TV or in print) discussing the deceptive nature of his claims about his actual wealth and business acumen back in the late 1980s - I know that his father's role in giving him money and/or bailing him out of problems has been known for a long, long time by anyone paying attention. What actually surprised me a bit was that when he started running for president and continued repeating his bogus "great businessman" and "self-made man" claims, nobody in the press or among his campaign opponents ever pushed back on this tack, because there was already plenty of evidence even then that he was so full of crap that it fertilized the grass seed he planted on his otherwise bald head (of course, all that Diet Coke killed it; it's really time to bale all of that dried straw).

Surprise? No, though the extent of his father's money laundering and bailout was a bit shocking. It's always been well known that his father's business is the only cash earner that he has touched and that pappa bailed him out of his screwups regularly' but, it does help shatter more of the BS that he has spewn in the last couple of years. Doubt it will change the warped minds of the sheep; but, couldn't hurt. Mostly, I just love Trevor's delivery of this stuff. He has great timing, is an excellent mimic and a really sharp guy. In many ways, I think he is better than John Stewart.

Unsurprisingly, the Republicans inspected their guy and found no wrongdoing. This is me being surprised. The investigation was as sham. They used to just be approaching comicbook villain levels of evil, but it's like they sailed way past that. I feel like even Magneto would look at the current GOP and be like "Damn, guys, take it down a notch."

Some of the sharpest insight into Trump comes from Trevor Noah, especially in these Between the Scenes segments, which fill time in the studio, while they set up the next segment aping. This one, especially, gets to the heart of Trump's success at turning the story around....

I run a Club since 1987 and this decision by our President change our Club forever; in simple words "border crossings" ... I have 47 Canadian Members that I've very fond relations to and our government made it difficult for travel.
We are under a specific category that allowed our Canadian Members to enter our country under a group check in and check out so that US Customs can process all 47 members in the comfort of their seats (bus) with no problems whatsoever. Now, those 47 Canadians has to go through individually and most custom process takes about 2-3 minutes sometimes 4-5 minutes if they don't have everything in order. Knowing this -- 47 times 3 Minutes is equal to 2.35 hours for our members that live in Canada plus additional time to make sure that everyone is in their assigned seats and that adds two hours plus for travel and with traffic ... it will take 3.5 hours trip from Vancouver B.C. to Seattle close to 6 hours and that's spells disaster for us.
So, after learning this on Monday of this week -- all 47 members resigned from our club and I have to inform 178 American Members here that our friends up north just resigned and that meeting will take place a week from today (10/12/2018) to further enhance the unhappiness that we lost members due to this custom change by our government.
My lawyers are protesting this change, along with me and other leaders are demanding why this change and I'm going to be awfully busy the rest of the year going through 178 Members of this change and why.
I have been working on this for about 7 hours a day and answering countless emails about this and we have to settle this by January 11th so that we can have our paperwork in order.
I'm the brain of this club; and all the work has to be done by me to ensure that everything is in order. I have about 4-5 trusted members can help me and I'll have them assist me when necessary.
This is the nuttiest idea that I ever heard in all my life in the 31 years of running this club that our President made in my life. That's all I have for now.

(please note, this is not considered to be the same as the F-word, and is more akin to "freakin", used as a substitute, without a sexual connotation. Read here for more)

“Those who step forward to serve our country deserve a fair and dignified evaluation, not a campaign of political and personal destruction based on lies and deception," Trump said.
That means adding the incorrect epithet “crooked” in front of their name and fostering a false rumour according to which they were not born in this country?
Trump has to be the most hypocritical and despicable politician the United States have ever known. By far. Something he can’t keep from demonstrating day after day, alas.
