I have been at CCF from the start and have interacted with a few members as far as trading and sending books. I'm wondering what series are your favorites and what are you in the hunt for? I know that Hossier X likes Hulk, Cei-U likes the The Brave and The Bold and Shax enjoyed the Star Trek comics. What about the rest of you?
My favorite all time series in order is 1. Avengers 2. Savage Dragon 3. Thor 4. Teen Titans 5. Birds of Prey 6.Fantastic Four 7. Dreadstar 8. Warlock
these are the titles that I will pretty much buy anytime they come out with a volume.

I don't know that there's any property I love enough that my affection for it transcends creative teams. That being said, there are certain properties I will always buy just because I'm a damn sucker:
1. Cerebus (anytime I learn of a one page story that popped up somewhere, I'm on it) 2. Usagi Yojimbo (creator controlled, so I'm never disappointed) 3. Magnus Robot Fighter 4. Planet of the Apes

In no particular order:
Detective Comics - I have every issue from 500 to 881 and about a third of the issues from 300 to 500.
The Brave and the Bold - What little I've read of the early "historical adventure" issues is intriguing. And then a few years of random team-ups. And then - Behold the glorious wonders of the Haneyverse!
The Hulk - Through Tales to Astonish and up to #200 of The Incredible Hulk, it's my favorite long run for a Marvel super-hero.
The Fantastic Four - The first 200 issues are still FANTASTIC. (I got over Byrne a log time ago.)
The Amazing Spider-Man - There's still a few in the #40 to #80 range that I haven't read but from what I've seen, this is another great long run.
Tales of Suspense - I had all 99 issues at one time. Great monster stories by Lee, Kirby, Ditko and Heck. Then great super-hero stories with Captain America and Iron Man. And the short-lived Watcher series!
Kamandi - Because Kamandi!

I'm a Spider-Man guy above all else. My favorite run is the Ditko stuff. I have a strong fondness for the Bendis stuff, and love much of it, right up through the Slott stuff.
I follow new Spider-Man comics via trade. I have most older ones, though am still hunting for a few Spidey Super Stories and promotional tie-in comics.
Most of what I buy is trades. Looking for the best new stuff or the best classic stuff I haven't read. Though I am also slowly working to fill in Batman, so any old Batman or Detective Comics I can find that I don't have for $3 or less, I snatch up.
EDIT to add: After all thing Spider-Man, my next favorite series is probably Usagi Yojimbo, though it's a close call with Astro City. And of course Marvels is right up there with Astro City. Then I love the cosmic Marvel work of Jim Starlin, at least up through Infinity Gauntlet. I do not stand by Infinity War or Crusade. Then I love X-Men, as written by Chris Claremont.
After that, I would say all things Alan Moore. He's my favorite writer and I try to read everything he writes. My favorite works are Swamp Thing, V for Vendetta, The Ballad of Halo Jones and From Hell.
Next I'd have to say much of Avengers. I love the work of Stan Lee, Roy Thomas, Steve Englehart, Gerry Conway, David Michelinie, Jim Shooter, Roger Stern, Walt Simonson, Larry Hama, Bob Harras and Kurt Busiek. I have not cared for Avengers since Busiek left. My favorite Avengers comics are those drawn by John Buscema, followed by those drawn by George Perez.
After that I would go with Zot! by Scott McCloud.

I'm all about creators. So if we're speaking series' they're series' with consistent creators. I'll also leave out mini-series' so as not to fill it up with work by Alan Moore.
1. Sandman. Simply the best comic I've ever read. A book about stories and their effect on us all.
2. Sandman Mystery Theater. Pulp/paperback sleaze brought to comics with a literary turn. The tie-in to the Golden Age DC characters just makes it that much more golden. It also has my all-time favorite comic character, Dian Belmont.
3. The Spectre (volume 3). One ghosts journey through his unlife and on to his death. A simply beautiful and haunting mainstream comic.
4. Jon Sable Freelance. The closest thing to the "Mens Adventure" genre of paperbacks that I've ever read in comics. In my world it didn't continue after Grell left. But then the same is true of Warlord.

I almost completely follow creators, but there's a few characters I do tend to follow: John Constantine, Swamp Thing, Animal Man, Phantom Stranger, Hawkeye, Daredevil, Jonah Hex... I'll drop a book featuring one or more of those characters if I'm no longer enjoying it, but I tend to hold on longer than I otherwise would.

My favorites (in no particular order):
Iron Man Green Lantern Wolfman Teen Titans Astro City Usagi Avengers Conan
I more of an oppertunistic buyer than anything, so it's hard to say I'm looking for anything, but I would like to have all of Iron Man vol. 1 some day... I need about 1/2 of the first 100 (including 55, but not 1), and a couple past than (including 128)

Love And Rockets.
Lately I've been on the hunt for well priced hardcovers and slipcased hardcover sets. Spending almost all my comic budget at Fantagraphics and Dark Horse for the past couple years.

I'd like to finish the hardcovers for the original Doom Patrol (got v.1 and v.2) and get the 60s Hawkman and Adam Strange in color too.
I'd like to get that Star Lord tpb of the 70s and 80s material.
I've got silver age Marvel covered in reprints pretty up through my runs starting in the 70s. Really just need some DC bronze age stuff and reprints of Silver Age and older in hardcovers. I'd like to have some more old Batman reprints. I'd also like to have more of the Eerie, Creepy and EC in trades.

Favorite series of all time is a tough one-if you asked me at any point before 2002 I would have said Avengers Vol. 1 and I had collected a run that was only missing #1 and 4, but I sold off that entire run as well as complete runs of Silver Age Cap-end of Vol. 1, Iron Man from TOS 57-end of Vol. 1, a complete run of Defenders, and runs of Thor, FF, Spidey (Amazing, Spectacular, Web and MTU), Hulk, X-Men, BAtman, Detective and post-Crisis Superman that were not quite as extensive but still fairly expansive. After that there hasn't been many series I have collected simply because it's a favorite. I am not even getting current Conan as much as I love Howard's barbarian, as I just don't think they are worth the money currently. I am much more creator or story focused now (and sometimes genre focused) rather than title specific collecting.
What do I buy-I am trying to finish a run of Conan the Barbarian-I need only issue 24 (1st full Red Sonja) to complete it. Savage Sword of Conan and anthologies like Heavy Metal, Cheval Noir and some Dark Horse Presents are also series I am putting runs together of, but most titles I am looking for are creator-centric indy titles I missed in the 80s because a) they were more expensive than mainstream books at the time and I had a limited budget in high school, and b)I was too wrapped up in mainstream superheroes at the time to be willing to spend on them rather than favorite titles at the time-so I have been picking up stuff like Chaykin's American Flagg, Baron and Rude's Nexus, Grell's Sable, McGregor's Sabre and Detectives Inc., Collins and Beatty's Ms. Tree, Ostrander's Grimjack, Truman's Scout, Wagner's Mage and Grendel, etc.
I am also always in the market for Kubert art, covers or interiors, same with Steranko, Moebius, Wrightson, Mignola, Cooke, and a few others. I also seek out certain genres, such as sword and sorcery, martial arts, certain types of sci-fi, pulp adventure (not necessarily pulp heroes though)...

Probably my favourite all time series was the Marvel Classics Comics. Unlike Classics Illustrated they tried hard to make the stories exciting (sorry, C.I). And since every issue was self contained story, and each is one of the best stories in the world, it's hard for others to compete.
Regular comics? Number one for me is the Fantastic Four, up to Walt Simonson's run (no surprise there!)
Other comics I love: Subnormailty (web comic) Certain strips in British anthologies of the 1950s-70s: Jonah (by Ken Reid in the Beano) Janus Stark (the Solano Lopez art and the writing feels so authentically victorian) The Badtime Bedtime Books (by Leo Baxendale in Monster Fun) Bewitched Belinda (art by Reg Parlett - maybe I'm reading too much into the series but it really grabbed me) Harris Tweed, Waldorf & Cecil and Luck of the Legion in old Eagles Lots of odd stuff, really. I just ordered some old Valiants and Fantastic weeklies, and can't wait to see what I find.

These are not necessarily in order:
1) Green Lantern/Green Arrow
2) Justice League of America (Satellite era and Metzler era)
3) The Brave and the Bold
4) All-Star Comics/Adventure Comics (JSA)
5) The Huntress back-up features in Wonder Woman
6) The New Teen Titans
7) Birds of Prey
8) Green Hornet Year One
9) The Last Phantom
10) ...hopefully, something new and great that will be published soon!
Note: I have enjoyed the past year-and-a-half or so of Green Arrow. It may or may not be added to my list of all-time favorites at some point.
