3 months ago I had a question I emailed to Mark Evanier regarding DC editor/writer Jack Miller. He might be best known as the man responsible for the creation of Deadman. My question was about a Jack Miller being credited for Gunsmoke episodes in the 60s as well as animation. Was this the same man? Plus Jerry Bail's Who's Who book has the DC Jack Miller passing away in 1969 and yet stories credited to him continued in the mystery books until 1971
Mark's response was the DC Jack Miller did write for Filmation's Superman and Aquaman shows. All other IMDb credits belong to a different Jack Miller. And to the best of Mark's knowledge, the DC Jack Miller did pass away in 1969 shortly after the Deadman creation but some scripts were held and used later
This question had come up on the CBR boards but since thats been wiped clean I thought I'd post Evanier's response here. Of all the DC editors,Jack Miller is probably the least discussed

I thought the original concept of Deadman came from Arnold Drake, and that Miller came in later.
I have heard Miller reliably credited with the creation of Aquaman's wife Mera.

I pretty sure that Infantino had also claimed Deadman.

I pretty sure that Infantino had also claimed Deadman. I'm a fan of Infantino's (even more now than I used to be), but he does tend to pad his resume.
