Do you think you need an event to work towards? IIRC, last year your downward trend started when you were heading towards a reunion of some sort - is there anything happening this year that you could use as a motivator?

It certainly helps. I just need a few good days in a row to get myself motivated.

(I weigh once a week) tho I had a really rough week, after weighing the same for 3 weeks (187.8), I not only fell off the wagon, but the wagon caught on fire, careened off the road, and into a roadside fireworks stand. so yeah.. struggling to get back on track, but not weighing until Wed, to try to get back on track from a week of bad eating out. at least I kept up with my exercise, but yeah, it's been a tough 10 days or so, and not good choices. (only upside? (besides keeping the exercise going), is that it could have been worse.. at least no fast food).

I still think you're doing good. A rough patch is inevitable from time to time. The people that post here have a problem with food. Our emotions dictate much of our bad eating.

weighed myself today, and back on track.
even with a week+ of bad choices, I still dropped ~ 1 1/2 lbs since last time.
so today, I'm 186.4 lbs.
(only ~11.5 lbs over my lowest)

I used to do all kinds of crazy circuit training routines with intense cardio as well as weights. As I have gotten older, I found that I was constantly pulling muscles and hurting myself so I have backed off the more intense workouts. They did produce excellent results, but I just can't keep up that pace anymore-especially my knees, ankles, and low back. I have found more moderate cardio and weight lifting works for me. I enjoy yoga and pilates as well. I do try to watch what I eat--although I do splurge every now and then. Currently, I am only 4 lbs off from my preferred weight which I have maintained since 2005. My weight tends to fluctuate by around 4-5 lbs. It is funny though, when I was eating super healthy, I was absolutely miserable. I was irritable and hungry all the time although I looked fantastic. My abs were at their very best during that time, but I have found at 46, moderation helps me stay in shape.

I'm at 241 now and holding steady - with Spring is now and I'll be eating less and drinking more H20 because I'll be walking more and more each passing day. I should be down to 230 by May and down to 220 by July. My goal is to get down to 215 by September.

so finally got on the scale today. . yep, was bad. put back on almost 8lbs. . knew it wouldn't be "good". . but I guess this is the kick in the pants I was needing to stop "cheating" so much, as i KNOW hamburgers, or chinese buffet aren't the best food choices so often. so yeah, this morning was 194.2 - a gain since my last weigh in back at the end of March (186.4). so after 2 1/2 weeks of not making good food choices, back to heathier eating. I WILL be at my goal by the time I do my vacation trip later this summer. hope everyone else is doing good?

I am 2 days short of a year since I started to eat less carbs and sugar. On April 18th of 2017 I was 217.8. This morning I was 200.6, so I kept off 17 pounds in a year. I'd rather be 190 All year round so I also have to stop cheating like @bert . I'm not where I want to be but at least I'm not starting over from 217. I really think that I've learned to stay away from sugar this past year. I remain positive. .

I feel that I have to add that I have suffered 2 big injuries since December of last year. I think I have a minor tear of a forearm muscle which I got while foolishly moving a comic box with just my left arm. It still hurts and I can't lift more than around 5-10 pounds without pain. Also in January I sprained my right ankle and it's not 100% yet. This has hampered any weight lifting or running. .

A year ago today I was 217.8 pounds. Today I am 198.2 which means that I am 19.6 pounds less than that day. This makes it easier to get to 180 for June 10 , which is my HS Reunion day and my new goal.

Started my new job and haven't figured out the logistics of cycling yet. Also hit 190 at the start of the week, but I'm firmly back on the diet now (helped by not being able to get in and out of the building without annoying someone to let me back in), so no snacking. Was 186.8 this morning, which is still about 20 pounds too heavy.

I'm still at 238 pounds and I've just got back from a meeting that both Water Polo Leagues just folded and no longer exists. So, I had to return my swim caps and arm bands back to my coach and signed papers and get my $70 back to me. I'll get paid via check next week. I'm disappointed in all this.

Just going through my medical papers after having a check up today and was pleased by my weight loss progress since January. On Feb 9th I weighed in at 285 lbs, on March 3rd I weighed in at 279 lbs, on April 27 I weighed in at 272 lbs, and today I weighed it at 264 lbs. Was pretty cool to look back and see that. I feel like I've made quite a bit of progress and have been enjoying the increased physical activity. I did just stress eat some salt and vinegar kettle chips but I feel they were well deserved.
