It's hard for me to rate them impartially: I just can't get over seeing Connor, Lian, Ryan, Wally, Donna, Matrix, Cassandra, Vic Sage, Rene Montoya, Ted, Ralph, Sue et al alive and active again, Lois & Clark married again...

I know what you mean.
Love Steel, but that story was weak IMO, and the art was sub-par as well.

The 2nd issue of Adventures of Superman made me really question the idea that these are supposed to be pre-Crisis power level Kryptonians...they were getting hurt by gorilla ray-guns and treated a nuke like it might hurt Superman.

The first issue of Shazam is definitely the standout to me. I suspect that the second issue is going to be equally as good. If any book is going to be continued, it needs to be Doc Shaner's Shazam.

It was nice to visit old friends, but I don't see myself rereading any of these any time soon. The good news is that most of them got better with issue #2. The bad news is that most of them were trying to dig themselves out of a very deep hole.

So I only read about 1/3 - 1/2 of them, but so far: - I'm not sure why we had to have 'The Titans' and 'New Teen Titans' when they were very similar, only subbing Arsenal in for Nightwing. It's practically the same story... just a different sub-plot (for Roy it's his daughter, for Nightwing it's Starfire). Also, 'The Titans' really should have been called 'Arsenal', since the others were basically guests - The ads in the #2s were a little out of control. A 6 page mini-comic worth in the middle, than an 8-page preview at the end? I definitely was not amused. - The art, in general, is not good. There's a few that are from good artists, but the people whose names I didn't recognize were medicore at best... especially for some of those previews. - the JSA and Shazam were my favorites.. both were nicely told stories where the Convergence plot of 'we have to fight other good guys for our city' took a back seat to the character interaction -- I wanted to like Nightwing/Oracle, but it was pretty silly... no way the Hawks should have lost. I mean, wheelchair-bound Barbara was able to not get killed immediately by evil Hawkgirl? ridiculous. Also, it's funny Dick gets 2 different weddings in this event... someone really needs to do a 'Three's COmpany' parody there -- Seems like I liked the New Teen Titans more than most. Yes, it was overly sappy, but it was nice to see those guys again... especially Jericho (who, I know, no one but me likes). -- I really enjoyed the Red Son Supes portrayal.. totally makes me want a new book in that world. How cool would be to have that world go through Gorbachev's reforms, then Putin's nonsense? That would be EPIC. Did any of the other titles make out that Telos was doing something to the heroes minds to make them fight? (like Huntress).. it was kinda implied with the Doom Patrol in NTT, but no where else I've read -- The Ralph and Sue Dibny focus in the JLA book was fun to read, but it felt like an apology for Identity Crisis. -- A couple of the books (like Batman and Robin), were just 1 big fight scene... totally not worth it. OVerall, I'd give what I've read so far a B... maybe a B- (due to the ads). Hopefully I'll be able to finish up and read the main book later today

Just read Suicide Squad. Could not resist. Wonderful art by Mandrake, horrible writing by Tieri. He actually made it a major plot point to use something yellow against the Golden Age Green Lantern, who had wood as his weakness, not yellow. Where was the editor on this?
