comicsandfriends.org/lakeeffectcomiccon/I'll be attending this Sunday with my family. It's my favorite local show, being small scale (it's held in a movie theater lobby) but choc full of quality back issue dealers and even some small scale comic book writers and artists worth meeting. It's also very family friendly, complete with costume contests and even movie screenings. We always have a lot of fun here. I'm really looking forward to it.

The spoils from today: Spent far more on the girls than I did on myself (which is how it should be! Their stuff is the light saber and everything above it), and they entered the costume contest too, my 7 year old as Black Widow, and my 3 year old as a light saber-wielding Princess Anna. She was actually JUST Princess Anna until I bought her the pictured light saber from a vendor for $4. I was primarily looking for the remainder of the early Moench stories I need for my review thread, but the show was light on horror mags. The few books I picked up were all criminally inexpensive (about $2.25 each when averaged). And my favorite dealer gave the Gene Autry Champion book to my seven year old for free because he was so impressed that she wanted to own and read it (we watch a lot of Gene Autry together, and we were both fascinated how a book written about his horse could possibly work). All told, a great day.
