StorySpecial Edition NY is a more comic focused spin-off of NYCC and a place where comic news announcement can shine instead of movie news. Marvel is using this to announce Bendis next big projects (and probably a few other things as well). I am holding my breath he is not the writer on the new Dr. Strange series-I haven't liked the way he has handled Doc in Avengers over the years. My speculation is he will be writing a new Defenders book featuring Cage, Fist, Jessica Jones and a few others that will play to the Netflix shows and take the place of the Heroes for Hire series he hinted at when he ended his Avengers run and had dangling plots of Luke and the gang, but which never appeared on the schedule. We'll see. I am looking forward to what gets announced here as the timing is right for these to be Sept solicited series post-Secret Wars (and for DC after the first wave of post-Convergence launches when some of the initial mini-series that were part of it will be endingish). -M

As far as Strange is concerned, all rumours I've heard about a new Strange series were pointing to Barbiere as writer. Though those rumours are old by now.

His Dr. Strange solo story in the New Avengers annual was very good, and Five Ghosts is one of my favorite current series. He does pulp, magic, and mysticism well, so he'd be a good fit for Doc. -M

Yeah, probably those rumours were about his Dr. Strange story which was the annual rather than an ongoing.
