George Miller of Mad Max Fury Road fame has an in production Justice League movie that had been fully cast in 2007 to be titled: Justice League Mortal that had a 2009 release date scheduled from Warner Brothers, but the studio scrapped the entire thing before it was filmed. A documentary on the pre-production work on the film is being planned by Ryan Unicomb, and to promote the potential documentary, production art from the Miller film was released on twitter today.... article on proposed documentaryarticle on production artThis is the character design for Aquaman... who was set to be played by Santiago Cabrera (of Merlin and Heroes fame) and a couple of pieces of Wonder Woman in action art... with Megan Gale (of the aforementioned MAd MAx Fury Road fame) set to have played Wonder Woman. I don't know about anyone else, but I would have been a whole lot more excited about the prospect of this JL film than I am anything helmed by Goyer, Snyder and crew. -M

Here's the production sculpt for Martian Manhunter (not painted still in clay) who would have been played by Hugh Keays-Burns I guess Miller disagrees with Goyer that no one would know or care if Martian Manhunter were in a League movie and it would only serve to confuse viewers who don't live in their parent's basements... -M

I always liked the water hand and the crustacean armor is a cool angle.
Love this bust of the MM. I hope he at least shows up at some point in the DC movie universe.

Stuff from this is turning up all over the place, looks like the PR blitz to fund the documentary is on... here is some more on the Superman Super Site showing storyboards of a Supes WW brawl.... sample.... The site gives a larger casting list too... and gives this as the reason WB gave for shutting it down... -M
