After the last few issues being sort of blah.....I was really impressed with the way that Finch wrapped up her and some of Azzarello's lingering plots. Between the 2 stories in the Annual, we finally find out why the Amazons are so distrustful and bitter towards men. Hippolyte's mother(the former queen) was poisoned to death by a man. A very young looking Derinoe was infatuated with Hipppolyta and upon saving Hippolyta from an assassination attempt, was struck by a mystical dagger that turned her into the old crone we've come to know. As for the battle between Diana and Donna, I really enjoyed it. Diana was very in character with telling Donna the real meaning of being an Amazon which is to embrace their fears and build one another up. The best part was that she was able to stop Donna, not with a bladed weapon, not with deception, but with her Magic Lasso. Being bound in the lasso showed Donna the horrific truth of her programming by Derinoe and the look on her face states how horrified she was over what she had done previously. I have to say between the characterization, revelations, and amazing art, this Annual was well worth the wait! The Finchs may continue on IMO.

I wasn't going to get this - I'm kind of lukewarm on Annuals and all and having read what you've written here - I'll pick up a copy of this in a week or two. Nice Write Up.

Dr. Poison, based on what you've read, would you say that Donna Troy is going to become a heroine now?

I *think* so. Wonder Woman banished Donna from Paradise Island forever for her crimes and she is currently in a prison on Olympus. After being forced to face the truth upon being bound in the Magic Lasso, Donna looked mortified as though she felt tremendous guilt over what Derinoe had programmed her to do. The solicits state that Donna will be venturing on a new path soon so I'm thinking it's a path to heroics.

I guess I can find it in my heart to forgive DC for treating Donna this way. The story sounds like an interesting journey to heroine-dom. It would be nice if she becomes the great heroine that she was before the New 52.

Here's my thoughts about Donna - Being old-schooled and my love of the Teen Titans when Donna was Wonder Girl (see picture below, my favorite) and having read the fact that Derinoe programmed her to was unthinkable and I was sadden the fact that DC Comics allowed this to happen. I was very, very angry when they did this and this forced me to stop reading Wonder Woman for a few months because I was shocked by all this development. It was Scotty2Hotty's joy of the Teen Titans made me to go out and get these issues and that's alone made me to love Donna even more.

I'm keeping my "fingers crossed" on this ... Dr. Poison. I guess I can find it in my heart to forgive DC for treating Donna this way. The story sounds like an interesting journey to heroine-dom. It would be nice if she becomes the great heroine that she was before the New 52. I know exactly how you feel Earth 2 Flash and I wished they make her the great heroine that she once was and hopefully become the next Wonder Woman in the near future. That's would be awesome if they did this. It was Scotty2Hotty made me fell in love with Donna's character and I just wanted to share that to you guys today.
