I'm strongly considering getting the softcover version of this collection and was wondering if anyone happens to own it? I've been wanting to read the strip for years chronologically and this seems the logical way to do it.

The hardcover collection is probably the thing I'd grab in a fire if I had time to grab only one item. Well, maybe my daughter first.....

My hardcover set is kept on the same shelf with The Bible and The Complete Works of William Shakespeare. With a window a couple of feet away for the saving from a fire bit.

I have both hardcover and softcover books of Calvin and Hobbes and sometimes I like to bring it on Vacation for a good laugh or two. It is one of my favorite books that I have of Bill Watterson who drew them just beautifully.

I have the original collections, which were ridiculously cheap to acquire via Half Price Books. I've read the whole thing chronologically twice. Obviously, it isn't intended to be read cover-to-cover and, thus, gets monotonous at times, but it's a great friend to return to on a whim when the mood strikes.

Look's like I might wait for the hardcover to come back into print. Amazon seems to only have the softcover as of now. I honestly prefer the softcover reading experience over hardcovers, but those hardbacks certainly do look nicer on the shelf.

When I'm having a bad day I pull out my Complete Calvin & Hobbes. After reading a few pages I feel happier. Much better than any medications.
