...and see if anyone else can recommend something that fits the bill. It could be an artist, writer, theme etc, or any combination. For example, is there a collection of MAD James Bond anywhere? And what other John Bolton fantasy is out there? This is Goblin Market...

Bolton did the 6 issue fantasy mini Black Dragon from Epic with Chris Claremont. I believe it was set to be re-released as a trade form a different publisher recently, but can't recall which publisher. It is the Arthurian fantasy vein. There's also a 2 issue mini released by Eclipse in the 80s called John Bolton's Halls of Horror that collects a number of Bolton shorts in the fantasy and horror vein I picked these up late last year and they are near the top of my to read pile but I haven't had a chance to read through them yet, but they looked good with my first flip through He was also the artist on Marada the She-Wolf and a few issues of the 80s Kull series form Marvel. -M

Jez, in addition to Black Dragon, I'd also recommend Bolton and Claremont's Marada the She-Wolf, which Titan just put out in a very nice HC edition, Bolton's recently concluded Shame series, the original Books of Magic miniseries (which is only Bolton on the first book, but Scott Hampton, Charles Vess, and Paul Johnson on the other three, so great artists all-around), Sandman Presents: The Furies, and The Green Woman with Peter Straub. Plus, there's a magnificent Kull story in one of those Marvel black and white magazines that I can't recall now.
Oh, and Someplace Strange with Ann Nocenti is a very interesting book, too.

John Bolton fantasy: Kull the conqueror vol. 2, #2 has a story with werewolves, Atlanteans and Picts; a high point in the Kull series at Marvel (all three of them). Bizarre Adventures #26, a Bolton extravaganza in black and white, also very much worth adding to one's collection! Attachment Deleted

Mad's put out TBP by theme (decades, Star Wars, Spy Vs. Spy, etc) but not a Bond one.

Just one thing? Sometimes I want an engrossing highly personal story, other times I'm up for talking gorillas...
