There’s an episode of Stargate: SG-1 where a race on one planet is holding Teal’c hostage for his past war crimes. Colonel O’Neill wants to use the threat of their firepower to persuade them to hand Teal’c back. This is Major General Hammond’s response:
“Colonel, the United States is not in the business of interfering in other people’s affairs!”
A bemused O’Neill replies, “Since when, sir?”

I love the episode of The A-Team, where Colonel Decker is given the task of hunting down the A-Team. This is what he says to the army general who gives him the assignment:
”We both know what you're saying, General, so let's not dance around the floor once. Everyone heard the reports from 'Nam on these guys. They were the best, because they're fast, sharp, and unorthodox. The way to catch men like this are to play by their rules, which means...there are none.”

"Poor human nature, what horrible crimes have been committed in thy name! Every fool, from king to policeman, from the flatheaded parson to the visionless dabbler in science, presumes to speak authoritatively of human nature. The greater the mental charlatan, the more definite his insistence on the wickedness and weaknesses of human nature. Yet, how can any one speak of it today, with every soul in a prison, with every heart fettered, wounded, and maimed?"
— Emma Goldman

From 1993’s The Firm:
Mitch McDeere: What led you to law school? Avery Tolar: It's so far back I don't think I can remember. Mitch McDeere: Sure you can, Counsellor. Avery Tolar: I used to caddy for lawyers and their wives on summer weekends. I looked at those long tan legs and just knew I had to be a lawyer. The wives had long tan legs, too.

Viewers of The Firm get to see the Rexall drug store in the Frayser neighborhood of Memphis where I bought many of my first comics.

Watched the A-team episode “Body Slam” (featuring Hulk Hogan). In one scene, the FBI’s Special Agent DeBerg arrests the A-Team - but won’t hand them over to Colonel Decker and the military police. This is the dialogue:

My daughters, both of whom are in the “gifted” program at our school were complaining this week (end of the first quarter) that they are’t breezing through their classes this year, which made me think of this quote from Jeff Winger (Joel McHale) on Community:
“The funny thing about being smart is that you can get through most of life without ever having to do any work.“
Truer words have never been spoken.

The movie Quick Change is out on Blu-ray next month. It stars Bill Murray as a bank robber, Grimm, who, dressed as a clown, robs a bank - and then finds it almost impossible to make his flight after numerous mishaps, including a pedantic bus driver:
