Quick Changes is a brilliantly funny movie that - it seems to me - is largely unknown by the wider public. I've seen it about a half-dozen times. And just a correction, Murray's character robs the bank together with two accomplices (played by Geena Davis and Randy Quaid) who pretend to be customers.

Not really a correction as such. I was typing on an iPhone and couldn’t be bothered to type out the name of Grimm’s associates, especially with autocorrect being worse than ever lately.

The movie Quick Change is out on Blu-ray next month. It stars Bill Murray as a bank robber, Grimm, who, dressed as a clown, robs a bank - and then finds it almost impossible to make his flight after numerous mishaps, including a pedantic bus driver: Quick Changes is a brilliantly funny movie that - it seems to me - is largely unknown by the wider public. I haven't seen it in years, but I remember it being quite enjoyable. It came out when I was working in a video store during undergrad so I saw it quite a few times. Murray made a number of solid comedies in the late 80s-early 90s.

Murray made a number of solid comedies in the late 80s-early 90s. He did indeed, although I think Quick Change is my very favorite from that period. I'm also really fond of Larger Than Life and The Man Who Knew Too Little from the mid-1990s.

"The ultimate weakness of violence is that it is a descending spiral begetting the very thing it seeks to destroy. Instead of diminishing evil, it multiplies it. Through violence you may murder the liar, but you cannot murder the lie, nor establish the truth. Through violence you may murder the hater, but you do not murder hate. In fact, violence merely increases hate. So it goes. Returning violence for violence multiplies violence, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that."
— Martin Luther King Jr.
