This drawing makes me wish the JSA had appeared on the Super Friends!

Cool! Very relaxed and natural poses (is Superman scratching himself?). I don't recall Doc Mid-Nite sporting the "M" emblem. Something he adopted in the 70s maybe?

Alex Toth's artwork is like a beautiful marriage of Kirby and Cooke.

This drawing makes me wish the JSA had appeared on the Super Friends! In the episode where the Flash appeared, he was supposed to have a statue in a museum before he shows up to help save the day. Alex Toth got his Flashes mixed up and made a design sheet for the Jay Garrick version. They got the Barry Allen version to the animators just in time.

Same with Jay Garrick-Flash using the Barry Allen-Flash chest logo, instead of his own big lightning bolt design and the variant GL logo on Green Lantern's chest.

DC really should put out a tpb of Mike Parobeck's wonderful Justice Society series from the early '90s, though. Parobeck's work was very much in the vein of Toth's.

Oh, Cool.
Toth did draw some Justice Society - not whole stories, because the early JSA comics were split into chapters drawn by different artists - and a couple covers. I've also seen models from an unused Wildcat pitch from much later floating around.

I really need to pull that out and read it again. That was such a great series, though far too short.

Maybe a deluxe edition with some testimonials about Parobeck and his work. He was another great artist who died far too young.
