When DC's offices moved form NY to Burbank, one of the things that had to be moved was the Archive library. Hollywood Reporter gives us a glimpse of the library and interviews the librarian (and Didio) about the collection which includes 95% of all material published by DC, movie props, ancillary materials (such as Jim Aparo's original art for the alternate ending of Death of the Family) etc. The article is here on CBR and the video tour is embedded in the article (not a format pro boards supports to link directly unfortunately, or if it is one I cna't figure out how to link like I can You Tube). Don't cry when you see the butchered copies of Golden Age classics.... -M

1. Man, CBR's ads have gotten truly obnoxious!
2. Stephen Corte officially has the coolest job on the planet. I wonder what it pays to run the DC Archive.
3. I'm honestly amazed Warner continues to provide them with the space and staff to maintain such a collection. Forget the comics -- where are they storing all those action figures?! You'd think a big company like Warner would have some greedy execs who'd absolutely fail to see the value in supporting such a space and, worse yet, might insist they sell that copy of Superman #1 when they need to boost profits for a quarterly report to the stock holders.

Extremely obnoxious.
2. I'd trade jobs with him. Now.
3. Don't give them any ideas.

1. Man, CBR's ads have gotten truly obnoxious! Check out Ghostery -- it's a Chrome app/extension that blocks a lot of web trackers and ads. I am able to view CBR ad-free.

I actually prefer to have the ads when they are done tastefully. If everyone utilizes that ap, then how does a site like this one get paid for? But what CBR has done is way over the top.

They serve a purpose while being understated. The new ads on CBR popup and take over the whole screen before you can get rid of them.

That's why I don't mind the ads here. They serve a purpose while being understated. The new ads on CBR popup and take over the whole screen before you can get rid of them. The app is pretty flexible. It lets you individually select what types of trackers you block (or you can block all), as well as whitelisting certain sites so that nothing is blocked. That's actually a necessary feature, as certain types of page functions (like embedded videos) may not work if you set it up to block everything. Truthfully, I installed it because, while I don't mind seeing ads, I was tired of seeing creepy ads on certain sites based on stuff I'd looked at recently on Amazon or something else similar.

The fact that tracking someones shopping habits is legal, just because it's the internet, is ridiculous. What's the difference between this and some guy following you around taking notes while you shop at the mall? Or, worse yet, pops out of dark corners with flashy signs trying to get you to buy product? When a site allows ads that pop up and actually freeze your browser to the point where it's basically screwing with the functionality of your computer, this is when I draw the line. I gleefully support all add-blocking technology. I'd much rather directly support a site by donation, which I've done on several small fan-run sites through the years.

For the record, I white listed this forum because of the unobtrusive ads. That said, if I ever find out any of my neighbors are responsible for those pop-up ads that cover most of the screen, there will be a yard salting. I have spoken.
