I think my favourite Epic title was probably The Bozz Chronicles.

Ive no idea if I posted here when it was started, but if asked now would vote
Fleetway First Eclipse and whoever published Classics Illustrated
Fleetway via Action and 2000AD ruled my pre and early teen years, and if theyre responsible for Cor!! and Whizzer and Chips and Battle and Valiant then I vote twice for them.
Those Classics comics were an aching void I could never fill as a child, could never get enough, finding them was like striking gold, hate to think what theyre really like.
As a young adult First was my first(heh heh) really big rebellion against the mainstream. Grimjack and Nexus are still firm favourites.

I guess I'd vote for Whitman, though I think Whitman and Gold Key (another great non-big two publisher) were basically one company at one point. I'm confused about that whole thing. Harvey gets my second place vote.
By the way, pakehafulla, I think Giberton published Classics Illustrated, or at least the one issue of it that I have.

Yes, Whitman and Gold Key were both imprints of Western Publishing. They also produced most of the Dell comics from the 1930s to 1961. And Gilberton was the name of the company that produced Classics Illustrated until about 1970.

My favorite Western Publishing books were probably Turok, Son Of Stone (I mean it's about Native Americans hunting dinosaurs, what's not to love?) and The Phantom
