So I tried to delete some of the images from the Earth-Two threads but all I seem able to do is move them from the top of each post to the end. Advice?

It's possible you don't have the controls to delete them yourself. Just let me know when it's okay to delete the images for that thread, and I'll do it for you. Is all animated avatars are affected? - my current on is 274 KB and my old one 71 KB. Matter of fact, I have the avatar linked from IMGUR Account that I had over a year. Don't worry about avatars. The very reason I'm clearing out a lot of the other stuff is so that people can continue to upload avatars. You can take my Daffy Duck avatar when you pry it from my cold, dead feathers!  |

I summon Alphonse and Gaston! I meant let me know when you've got them hosted from another service (like photobucket) so that I can delete them without having any impact on your thread. Your cover images are too great a resource to lose! No rush on this. It can wait a few weeks. We're okay on storage for the moment... |

In Edit mode click on the BBCode tab (instead of Preview, which is the default view). Then look for the image code, which should be something that contains "img" , something like this (example below) only with brackets [ ] at the start and end. Oh...I've been going in and removing some of my images from my posts--but I guess if it is not helping any, I will stop pruning my posts.  For future posts I'll be using Imgur. |

Wait a second... I though using the img command was just a link...are you guys saying that actually takes up space on proboards? I was pretty sure that was not the case.
This (I thought) only applies if you use the 'add attachment' button, which seems to be not available here (which is good).
Perhaps I'm confused, though...

The img tag has no impact upon our resources, thus farrar's suggestion to delete them does not help us either. I disabled the "add attachment" button yesterday, which is why you don't see it now. |

I either hotlink the image from a site that allows it if it is easily avialable, or I upload an image to photobucket and "hotlink" it from there using the image tags.

The best site for hotlinking cover scans is comic vine. GCD blocks it, and DC and Marvel eventually substitute the image with a smaller one. |
