Today, the CCF hit its storage limit for uploaded/attached images. Essentially, whenever you choose to include an image in one of your posts, if you upload that image directly to this site (instead of using an image hosting service like
photobucket), that stored image takes up a portion of our storage space. When that space maxes out, we are given two choices:
1. No more uploading images AT ALL. This includes user profile avatars and even banners and images for the look of the site itself
2. I start paying a monthly fee. That is not something I am looking to do.
As a result, I have disabled the option to upload photos/attachments to your posts. Please use
photobucket or a comparable image hosting service and then embed the link here as opposed to uploading the file here directly.
All you need to do is type (image)http://www.addressofyourimage.jpg(/image) <---- note:
substitute commas for brackets...and your image will be visible in your post, just as it always was.
I also had to go in and delete some of the larger images uploaded to the CCF just now, but I tried to delete them from older threads not currently being used. If it becomes necessary to do so down the line, I will delete more of the images that have been uploaded to the site. Please assume that, if you have uploaded images in this way, yours will ultimately be deleted. I recommend saving copies of them now, if they are important to you, and then editing your posts so that the images are now coming from a photo hosting service site.
If you find any of this confusing or have questions, please feel free to
private message me.
I'm sorry for any inconvenience this causes. If I'd realized I could disable the photo upload option from the site earlier on, before this became an issue, I would have done so.
