Injection vol 2 - really, really good. Atomic Robo And The Ring Of Fire - I'd love to say this is on par with the previous volumes of the series, over which I have gushed at great length. Unfortunately, it's really not. I don't know what's happened to Clevinger and Wegener, but I hope they're able to get back to the kind of quality, fun comics they've made in the past. Injection is one of those series that is really good, and immersive inits internal mythology. It reads well in chunks, but I am going to have to read the whole thing again in one chunk when it's over. But it will be worth it. -M Most definitely. And the way it's structured, I was able to read and fully enjoy the second tpb without having to refresh my memory about what had happened in the first. That's good comicbook writing, right there.

Twilight Children.
That was weird!

Trees vol 1
I read the first few issues digitally, and after what I thought was a slow start, was interested enough to buy the tpb. I just read it all in one sitting, and damn that's some good stuff! And would you look at that, I've got vol 2 sitting right there on the pile.
I don't know what it is, but I seem to just enjoy reading comics more in print than I do digitally.

Twilight Children. That was weird! Yeah, it was one of my first extended exposures to Hernandez's writing (I am still looking to give Love & Rockets a try) and I bought it mostly for Darwyn, but I enjoyed it. It felt a lot like magical realist stories I have read (outside of comics) but yeah, weird is a good word for it. Similar here, though I bought and read #1 and 2 in print when it debuted then trade waited the rest of volume 1, which I read in a chunk and enjoyed. I haven't picked up vol. 2 yet, but Christmas is coming so either it shows up "under the tree: or I use some X-Mas money to pick it up later this month. -M

I just finished The Fade Out, and before that Fatale. While I think it's first volume is the worst of either series and it's a little uneven, I enjoyed Fatale more overall. That said, neither was bad, and I read both at the rate of a volume a day.

The Fade Out may be my favorite book of the last couple of years. Fatale, just never quite jelled for me. I guess I prefer my noir without supernatural elements.

I expected to have the opposite reaction, so that coupled with a pretty poor first volume of Fatale may have had something to do with my reaction. From the little I've heard, it seems your opinion is more popular. I think noir may just be something that doesn't work for me in comics (although I love Blacksad). I do plan to read his other stuff, although I'm not sure if I want to do Criminal or Sleeper first. Maybe Criminal, because those volumes can all stand alone, right?

Trees vol 2
Ellis obviously plans on doing this for quite a while. I'm really interested in seeing where it goes, and what exactly is going on with those gosh-darn Trees!

Criminal is indeed excellent, but I tore through Point Blank (the prologue) and both seasons of Sleeper in a very short time because I was so engrossed I couldn't put it down. But then I am a bit of a junkie for Bru and Phillips (I even broke down and bought singles for Kill or Be Killed). -M

Chew Omnivore Edition 4 (collecting issues #31-40)
This book continues to be consistently great. Funny as hell, alternating with scenes so graphic that, if they were drawn in a more realistic, less cartoony style, would probably be banned in thirty-five states.

Sad to see it end, but glad that they are able to tell their tale start to finish.

Yeah. It's good for stories to have endings. Otherwise you end up with things going on and on for years past their use-by date, just so the creator can keep milking the property for all it's worth yes Robert Kirkman I'm looking at you.
