Keep in mind that this is what people are asking for the book. Doesn't mean taht people are actually paying that.

That's strange. I got the Masterworks reprinting most of those issues for, like, 15 bucks each.
But Thor Masterworks 7 (which reprints stuff from Essential Thor Vol 3) goes for crazy money. Weird.

It can't be the content because they are only black and white reprints of earlier books. It has to be the supply and demand side of it. Yes. Likely how long it had been out of print and/or whether it was under ordered.eventually, it will be back in print. That's pretty optimistic of you, shax. I read that they fazed out the Essentials. They rather get the extra cash that color will get them in the Epic line.

But then the prices will come down anyway as those with essentials collections missing vol. 4 just shift over to the color editions. With the TPB market, things almost always balance out over time.

The problem of things staying in print, and the even worse problem of changing/abandoning reprint formats, have me glad I'm slowly going to all digital.

And I'll still have mine when your subscription lapses, your device gets fried, or Marvel discontinues the service We could debate the electronic vs. print thing all day long, of course. I have around 9,000 original floppies and I plan to keep appreciating them

I was wondering what issues/stories are reprinted in the original Son of Origins paperback book. I am intrigued but want to know if it is worth the pickup based on what is printed inside.

A question I've asked before in other parts of the board -- I understand the trade of Steve Ditko's Shade The Changing Man includes the previously unreleased ninth issue. Is it worth purchasing the trade just to get this one story?
