As a kid when I read Reed not telling Ben about his subconscious mental block (caused by Ben thinking Alicia only loved The Thing) and 1987's The Fantastic Four Vs. The X-Men where Reed had problems defending himself from accusations of purposely creating the FF, in many ways it makes sense Reed would have not had the proper shielding. He and Professor X can be devious and scummy.
Depending on who's writing them, yes. They can be Nazi spies if that's what Marvel decides!

I think if that scene was written now (and maybe it will be in a movie in the future), Reed fast talking the guards makes alot more sense for sure.. I mean how to you stealthily launch a rocket? Or, even better, THAT can be why Johnny is there... to talk to/distract the guards while Reed and Ben get the rocket ready. Maybe he has to board because the guard are on to them and he has to escape. Sue... I got nothing. The movie attempts (and I think Ultimate FF) have Sue be a scientist, working with Reed. Works as well as anything else. In the Heroes Reborn universe Susan and Johnny Storm were explained to have been financial backers for Reed Richards' rocket, hence their presence on the mission.

Reed needed four people because he needed them to run controls. He couldn't do it all by himself.

It's simple; Reed is the mission commander, Ben is the pilot, Sue is the stewardess (it was the 60s) and Johnny is the lab rat to test for things like oxygen or detrimental effects of cosmic rays and ability to sort tiny screws in zero gravity.

Does anyone know if there have been delays recently with the Marvel Omnibi releases? The third Immortal Hulk comes out in a couple of days and I guess it'd be cheaper to buy it now, but I want to avoid refunds and the like.

What was the reason for the Dinah Lance retcon in JLA #220, where it turned out she was actually the original Dinah Lance Black Canary's daughter? Was there some continuity issue that this was intended to resolve?

Was there some continuity issue that this was intended to resolve? I would assume it was a convoluted way to explain why she remained younger than she appeared.

Was there some continuity issue that this was intended to resolve? Think it was mostly to de-age her, since the original was around in WW2 and would have been around her 60s, by that point. So, suddenly, she becomes her own daughter.

As everyone is pointing out, it's so you don't have a 60 year old Black Canary dating a 30ish year old Green Arrow.

As everyone is pointing out, it's so you don't have a 60 year old Black Canary dating a 30ish year old Green Lantern. And she was the only one who needed a similar recon. The other famous female JSA member was Wonder Woman, and she was an immortal Amazon. Obviously, there was no need for such a retcon for male members. At the time, it was perfectly socially acceptable for over-70s to be with girls who were a quarter of their age. It was the opposite which was totally INCONCEIVABLE and alien to the moral fabric that made the America great!

Assuming she was 21 at the time of her debut, she would've been 43 when she emigrated to Earth-One and 58 by JLA #219-20. I can understand why they thought they needed to fix t but the way they chose to go still gives me the creeps.
Cei-U! I summon the dydgfunctional Lance family!
