Let's at least agree that it wasn't the writers' finest hour 😅

By the way, while I was re-watching the film there was a scene that made me smirk. During the interview Superman says: "I never lie." Sure Superman, except when you fool your friends into thinking you're a bumbling buffoon and claim that Superman and Clark Kent are two different people.
Apparently Superman and I have two different definitions of "lie".

Such is the duplicitous nature of falsehoods.

Well, Superman foolishly gave Lois lane and interview and revealed many things about himself. My head cannon is that he mentioned Krypton and other items about his arrival. "You see Lois, the only dangerous thing for me is a particular radiation (the exact characteristics of which I will shortly provide you with) which does not exist on Earth. In theory it could only be emitted by fragments resulting from the explosion of my home planet. These fragments would be glowing and green and crystal-like. But I am sure that they cannot be on Earth, so I can give you this information knowing that they cannot harm me in any way."

There are lies and there are bald faced lies. He doesn't mean he never ever lies. No one in this world can do that. " Honey, do I look fat in this dress? "

There are lies and there are bald faced lies. He doesn't mean he never ever lies. No one in this world can do that. " Honey, do I look fat in this dress? " Exactly. Honesty is not the best policy: compassion is the best policy. A white lie to spare someone's feelings is an honourable thing.

Years ago, my sister cooked me a meal. I did not enjoy it (I later found out they’d put no salt in it, and had cooked it in a way which I didn’t enjoy). It was beef, potatoes, carrots and gravy. Yet when asked if I enjoyed it, the best answer was, “Yes, thank you.” Not, “Well, I didn’t like it at all, it was tasteless.”

Timing is key.

You could have said, "No stargazy pie, What?" but you took the more diplomatic approach.
I do sometimes question whether many aspects of British cuisine are based on a dare... but what do I know-- The French tricked the rest of the world into eating snails, so is this really so bad?

Then there are super-lies, the kind Superman does - and also presumably the rest of the super-family, including Krypto.

I truly believe that Pre-Crisis superman was technically lying about 80% of the time.

Why would thay?

I truly believe that Pre-Crisis superman was technically lying about 80% of the time. He is protecting them from sadistic murder at the hands of his enemies.
