I was looking at a seller's feedback as he has an item of interest....but he's being slagged of for one thing, his books reek of cigarettes. I've never had that problem but don't want to buy a HC smelling like that even if it looks in great shape. Any of you have books like that? How do you remove the smell? I used to be a very light smoker socially and dropped that about 20 years ago - but no one ever complained about my books that way. If it's bad enough that more than one person has mentioned it, it's probably pretty bad.
There was a dealer who used to do local shows that we called "gasoline comics" 'cause of the way they smelled. Would look through his stuff hoping we wouldn't find anything we wanted.

Hope you didn't light a match while looking.

It just looks too clean and lifeless for Popeye.

Garfield? - combined with some of the more recent cartoon samples I've come across online . Definitely not my style.

I think I already know the answer to this but just in case I'm wrong, has the newspaper strip Apartment 3G ever been collected? I've been feeling more and more inclination to try reading it ever since Codystarbuck mentioned it somewhere a while back, can't remember which thread it was.

I've been feeling more and more inclination to try reading it ever since Codystarbuck mentioned it somewhere a while back, can't remember which thread it was. I think it was an art-based thread. Creator Alex Kotzky worked for Quality and was the artist on their version of Manhunter. I have never seen collections of it, which is a shame, because it was beautifully illustrated by Kotzky and it was good stuff, for a soap opera. I did find a listing for it on Comics Kingdom, reprinting old strips, but they only have a limited number, before you have to pay to get access to the rest.

What is theStar Lord in a b&w magazine where “Ship” was concerned about his wounds? I know I own it I just cant remember where it is. Im pretty sure Caramila (sp?) was the artist.

Marvel Preview #14-15 are the Star-Lord issues drawn by Carmine Infantino, but it's been a loooong time since I read them so I'm not 100% certain that's what you're looking for.
Cei-U! I summon the clue!

Marvel Preview #14 is probably the one you want. Star Lord & Ship are ambushed in a battle, around a planet and crash land in a desert. Star Lord is near death and saved by Ship, but the widgets aren't sufficient to cope with his injuries and ship creates a more complex and female humanoid form, to aid in treating Peter. When he awakens, he finds the naked female form, but doesn't know it is Ship, in humanoid form and Ship masquerades as a human explorer. I covered it in my Land of the Misfit Stories review thread, here.
