From FLASH Debuts New Look For Season 2 by George Marston, Newsarama ContributorDate: 20 July 2015 Time: 05:41 PM ET 399 2Reddit0Submit0 DC has unveiled Grant Gustin's new look for the upcoming second season of CW's The Flash. While it's not reinventing the wheel of the costume from the inaugural season, the new costume has several key differences; notably the presence of a white circle around Flash's lightning bolt emblem. The white circle brings the suit one step closer to mirroring Flash's classic comic book look. While the suit was on display at Comic-Con International: San Diego, this is the first official image of the new

Much, much better than Season 1 Suit. A huge step towards the right direction, and even looking forward to Season 2.

Now here's an interesting thought... as is often the case the characters in the comics take their fashion cues from their mainstream media counterparts. (John Wesley Shipp as the flash has the V style belt on his suit. Wally's suit changes from the straight across the the V style Michael Keaton's suit is all black with only the yellow oval and utility belt ...eventually Batman's suit undergoes the same look later.... the New Batman Adventures emphasizes the Year One Look for Batman (no yellow Oval Military pouch belt etc..) and following the end of No Man's Land Batman drops the all black suit in favor of that same Year One look Now...Grant Gustin's season One look has a red circle behind the lightning and after a whole season of that...NuBarry Has altered his costume to have a red circle behind his lightning... Will we see the circle change back to white within the next few months to a year?

I was very happy with the season 1 look, but I am even happier with this white-circle upgrade.

Much, much better than Season 1 Suit. A huge step towards the right direction, and even looking forward to Season 2. I agree! I figured it was coming, since Barry, Caitlin, and Cissco found Wells' secret room with the future news acticle. Cissco even commented how the future design looked better then what Barry is wearing now, so I guess it's Cissco's idea to revamp the suit.
I also heard that Season 2 will bring Patty Spivot as a love interest for Barry. I'm guessing since Eddie Thawne died at the end of Season 1, we won't see a Iris/Barry connection for awhile........ Kind of like how Ollie & Laurel never connected cause of Tommy Merlyn's death.

Unless I'm missing something, the color of the circle is the only thing that's different, no?
I wasn't a big fan of the suit when images first debuted, and even though I've warmed up to it a bit since I've seen it in action, I still don't think it really suits the character. Speedsters really should have something that's more form-fitting and aerodynamic, and the current design has too many seams and wrinkles to give it that look. I have a feeling that part of the design choice has to do with Grant Gustin's physique. For superhero films, it's feasible to have the actor undergo a rigorous training period with an accompanying restrictive diet to give them a completely ripped physique, but they only have to maintain it for a the few months of the shoot and then they can let themselves go. Shooting an ongoing series with those kinds of demands would be unreasonable for any actor, so it's easier to design a suit that conceals their physical limitations.
Having said that, back when the first images of the suit were leaked online, I also said that so long as the writing and story were good and the special effects were convincing, I could look past the suit. That definitely turned out to be the case, so honestly, they can do whatever they want with the suit so long as it retains the spirit of the comic book costume.

Unless I'm missing something, the color of the circle is the only thing that's different, no? Well I've looked at the New 52 Flash comic, and it is close to the TV Flash, but the red suit in the comic is a shade lighter then in the series. Also in the Comic Barry still has the mercury wings on his mask while the TV Series went for the lightening bolts on the ear area, but I've gotten use to that.
I'm also thinking just like Arrow, as the series progresses each season we will slowly see more changes to Barry's suit.
One thing I do want to see as we saw with Wells's yellow suit, I want to see Barry use "The Flash Ring" to change into his suit.
