I feel like I missed something, why do Val and Kara hate each other? Is this something from the past or something that will be explored from the time jump?

That's is one of many reasons why I'm considering dropping this book - in the next 3-4 issues from now because Daniel Wilson the writer is taking too much time on developing stories and not speeding things up so that this book can move forward. I think that Daniel Wilson is not a great writer and Jorge Jimenez's art is somewhat slipping in each of the issues and I just don't care for the crazy display of the book anymore. I missed Earth 2 ... but find Earth 2 Society not to my liking anymore if this continues in the next few issues and Mr. Wilson needs to hurry things up and start writing better stories so I can stay with this book for the time being.

The gaps are frustrating, I can get using them to create suspense and mystery but to do that you have to tease out elements. I mean, they even had a large flashback sequence here where they could have hinted at the reason the two are at odds but it was absent and that feels like a huge misstep to me. Kara punching Val was some kind of catalyst here but with out a preamble it comes off as random rather than enticing. I like the art, and the idea of the world is interesting but unless the next issue gets a decent review I'm not picking it up.

I know exactly what you are thinking about - this makes perfect sense to me!
