Still remember how much this cover blew my socks off when I saw it on the stands.

I'm a little confused by Phil's comments above but this cover that I remembered so well might fit the bill nicely. Sorry, Mecha. What I meant was covers that use a photograph rather than a drawing. However, given the broad interpretations we often take around here, your entry also fits the theme very well. I've already changed my cover and decided to go with this Lone Ranger version instead. See 1st page for details.

Still remember how much this cover blew my socks off when I saw it on the stands. I remember being 12 when the clinic my mother was volunteering in received a donation of a short box of comics that they had no idea what to do with. She told me I could take anything out of it I wanted. I distinctly recall grabbing some comics I'd been wanting for a long time (complete Secret Wars and Longshot limited series), but then there was this cover. I didn't know a thing about Spider-Woman, but I grabbed all the issues that were in the box based on this cover alone. I think I like the corner box even more than the main cover image. Sadly, I never got around to reading them and gave them away, myself, many years later when I was trying to trim down my collection. I regret that now.

You buried the lead, man! For those who don't know, the "Black Rider" in that photo is none other than Stan Lee. So in the interest of fair play, I think it's fitting that my entry be this photo cover featuring Jack Kirby:

And that's Joe Simon with the gun on the Headline comic. Great cover--excellent choice. This is a really fun topic!

I regret that now. it's been so long since I've read the series, that I don't recognize all the characters on the cover. . but a "live" version of Gypsy Moth, Tigra!, Enforcer, Tatterdemalion, the Shroud, and Warewolf By Night!!!!! (the ones I still recall the names of). . yeah. .I was drooling when I saw this. I do recall "Daddy Long Legs" was a big presence in the book at this point, but he seems to be missing from the cover.

Because it's the greatest western of all time. Ethan Edwards is the spiritual forefather of Woodrow F. Call.
