As you are running the contest now Mecha, you can do things however you want, but we tell people they have until midnight PST to vote, and we have been cutting the voting period short quite often (not that there are a lot of last minute votes). If it is more convenient for you to do it earlier, it's cool, but then we should change what we tell people in rules in the initial post so it is accurate. As I type this, it's only 11:35 PST....

I guess that I have to wait until Midnight - Pacific Standard Time. But, I was going by my own guts instincts because in rebuttal - it's already pass Midnight in three other time zones. That's why I start the process at 11:30 so that the next contest can be up in running in a timely basis. |

Because of MRP concerns and reviewing the rules once more - I can't close out the contest until 11:59 PST. So, I have to wait until that time frame next week to close out the contest. MRP is right and I was wrong.
No additional votes came in and now PRINCE HAL is declared the winner. I have already sent that Member a PM indicating that they won the contest. So Sorry Everyone!

It's not about being right or wrong. It about being accurate and fair to everyone. If we need to change the deadlines to make it easier for you to run the contest, that's cool, all for it. Just make sure we list the deadlines accurately so people will know. I ran it for a good while and I know waiting out the last hour or so can be annoying. If I couldn't stay up (I'm on EST) I would just do the tally in the morning when I did get up, as I preferred to give the full time just in case and run the tally later, even if people got impatient for the results at times. But, it's your baby now, so set it up as it works for you. Just make sure you let people know if there are going to be changes is all I ask.

I'm on Greenwich Meantime, I have no real idea what time it is in America at any given moment. All I know is, it's half past one in the afternoon on the 26th, here.
