So far, I've not been allowed to post. But, I'm enjoying the site, so I'm patiently waiting. I actually joined this site back in December, but I never had the time to learn to navigate it. Figured I'd take some time today. As for Jeff, his last name is Heller. Maybe that's him, but he suggested this site late last year. I'm loving it, so far. The mods can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the trigger for being able to initiate a new thread is either 10 or 15 posts... so you're either there, or you're getting darn close. |

I was going to say, quoting confessor, "I think you have to have a minimum of 5 posts to do that (maybe it's only 3). It's an anti-spam measure. Maybe I should re-introduce myself since I've been gone for just about 5 years after joining pretty close to the start
Personally, I live in NYC, moved out of Manhattan about 7 years ago and now live not far from where I grew up as a teen (and a stone's throw away from were Iccy used to live.) Been retired a few years, living in a very nice apartment, rooming with a cat, and my health is decent enough.
Been reading comics since about 1962. Amassed a huge collection, so huge I needed to rent storage space the size of a large bedroom. Sold the whole collection about 9 years ago. Have not bought a comic since but was reading trades from the library
Still have the collector's OCD bug. When the pandemic hit and libraries closed, I discovered the ways and means of digital comic collecting. I now own everything I once had physically and so much more, right down to the comics released last week
Still a movie maniac. Finally finished watching everything I had on physical discs. And learned the ways of downloading movie torrents as well as tapping into streaming movies via 3rd party apps on a firestick to avoid commercials and fees
Still a huge music buff and listen to about two albums a day
Still a NY Yankee fan
Still a loudmouth. As you see, at my age, you can't teach an old dog new tricks
Biggest accomplishment these past 5 years-Went through a long rehab process to kick my overwhelming pudding habit. I've been pudding free for 3 years
Still to accomplish- Finish my novel about Pillowhead- New York's Real Super Hero

I'm a big Spider-Man fan, although I like all sorts of comics.
It's dopey, but I realize that I haven't been reading that many comic books recently, and a big part of it is wanting to be able to talk about this with people. Twitter, CBR and other forums will have conversations on the latest issues of a big title, but I'm also looking to talk about other stuff.

Take a look around, there's lots of conversations on comics taking place. Dive in to any that pique your interest. Once you have 5 posts, you can start creating threads to start your own conversations as well. There's lots of review threads dedicated to specific titles or creators, there's the What Classic Comics Have You Read Recently thread that is a hodge podge of stuff people are reading (for reference sake, these forums define classic as anything 10 years or older. There's a similar thread for modern reads as well for stuff less than 10 years old). -M |
