Hi, my name is Milo. I'm newer to comics but love them all the same. I'm primarily a fan of Batman and DC. While I've collected comics seriously for only a decade or so, I got into Batman through video games based on the animated series, as well as the show itself. I've always loved storytelling in all its forms, especially the visual mediums of film, TV and comics, and had a knack for writing stories myself, which I have now turned into a hobby of writing comics. My favorite creators who inspire me are Mike W. Barr, Alan Brennert, Bob Haney, Jim Aparo, Tim Sale, Kelley Jones and Alan Davis. I have dreams of becoming a professional comics writer, which I'm sure a lot of others share.

You'll also find many of us who respect Brennert's work as well. As for Bob Haney, well, if you don't enjoy a Bob Haney story, you can't call yourself a true comic book fan! Glad you have stopped by!

I'm sure many of us are heartened to meet a newer comics fan whose top tier of favorite creators includes veteran artists and writers over more recent ones, especially when those creators represent a fairly broad range of approaches to their craft like those on your list do! I think you'll enjoy the forum; you'll find plenty of discussion on Batman here and along the way, you'll be exposed to a whole lot more! We also have highly active members who have written professionally about comics and for comics, including for DC.

Was it John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt or Popeye the Sailor?

Hi, I’m Mark. As far as my comic book tastes go, I have a fairly eclectic taste, although I don’t pursue reading much after 1997 or so. I also am the publisher of Golden Era Comics. I’m glad to see this board is still going strong.

My name is Greg.
I'm 43 and have been reading superhero comics since 1984. Gave up around 1999, and then came back for the Johns and Busiek Superman for a bit. Now mainly focus on completing my back issue collections. I'm a quantity surveyor / commercial manager for a civil engineering company.

I'm 43 as well, and I'm amazed you got started so early. I attempted to start in '85 and found comics of the era utterly inaccessible for my age range. Either you found better comics than I did, or your reading level must have been through the roof!

I was reading the Marv Wolfman and Gil Kane Action Comics, and was gradually drip fed more and more when my Dad would buy them for me. I've always had a high reading level so absorbed story and art in equal measure. I really began to take it seriously when I was about 8 and would go with my Dad to pick pick out comics.

Hello, everyone. My name is Micheal or Mike, if you like. I'm here at the suggestion of another member named Jeff (don't know his username). We're both members of a Facebook group that covers 1961 to 1986. In that group, I've been writing reviews of Marvel comics as they were published. Each post covered a particular month of comics starting with August 1961, the month that FANTASTIC FOUR #1 was published. I started this project back in 2017 and I'm currently up to August 1976. I hope to share these soon and I hope that you all enjoy them. Looking forward to interacting with you all. Take care.

But, I'm enjoying the site, so I'm patiently waiting. I actually joined this site back in December, but I never had the time to learn to navigate it. Figured I'd take some time today. As for Jeff, his last name is Heller. Maybe that's him, but he suggested this site late last year. I'm loving it, so far.
