Anyone have fried Coke before? It's surprisingly good. Sounds bloody fattening. Give me a real can of beastly cold coca-cola, chilled, just before freezing point...had one first thing this morning actually when a hot coffee just won't hit the spot.

Hello, My name is Tyler. I am 20 years old. I just recently started getting into the world of comics a few months ago, so I am far less knowledgable then everyone else here I am sure. I stumbled across this forum and it seemed like a good one form what I've seen so I thought I would register. I'm not sure I'll be posting much, but I'm sure I will be lurking in the background, so that heavy breathing you hear is me in case you were wondering. Welcome, Tyler. Before I was the admin of this forum, I was just another new member at the old site, and I learned almost everything I now know about comics from this community right here. Ask questions, and you'll get helpful answers. You're where I was eight years ago

Anyone have fried Coke before? It's surprisingly good. Just read this on wiki. "Fried Coke is a frozen Coca-Cola-flavored batter that is deep-fried and then topped with Coca-Cola syrup, whipped cream, cinnamon sugar, and a cherry." Revolting.

Hello everyone. I'm icctrombone just like in Cbr. I'm 53 and have been reading since around the late 60's . I remember my big brother bringing me a bunch of Avengers books from around #45-60 when I was sick with the flu. The Avengers has and is my favorite title. I first starting using forums in the Dc message board and I joined Cbr in 2004. Mostly posting in the Classic forum because I don't buy many new books anymore. I also posted in the community boards but really only to the Comic Cover Contest. I also enjoy the 12 days of Classic Christmas. I reread what i posted and wanted to add a few things. I live in NYC and have all my life. I've lived in all the bouroughs except the Bronx and am currently in Staten Island. I'm a mailman and am married to a wonderful woman for 3 years now. My first marriage lasted 16 years and couldn't survive despite my wanting to continue. I don't believe in divorce but if the spouse wants to leave, let them go. I posted in the old CBR but I'm closer to the members over here . I have about 40 long boxes of comics ( mostly Superhero) and have sent/traded with a few people on this board. It's better to give it away to someone here, than to "give " it away on ebay. I find there to be Honor among Classic Comic collectors and true love for the hobby.

Been through two of them. The first was by far the hardest as we had 4 children together. I was out of my mind for fear of what could happen to them. The second one I divorced as she was undiagnosed bi-polar and refused any kind of treatment, and despite being 6'2" and 225 lbs, she abused me and I finally said enough. I figured sooner or later I was going to wind up dead.

I believe this might be the most difficult disease because the person afflicted doesn't think there's anything wrong. They will work against you because of this.

That was my second. This first one divorced me, took the kids and got everything. Broken and still not in my right mind, a year and a half later I married my second. She loved me, but was dangerous and had a side to her that was more than disturbing. I separated twice from her and said third strike all done. She went off again, slammed the bedroom door, and was talking with a friend. Before she could stop me, I literally got a plastic bag, emptied my medicine cabinet into it, grabbed my wallet, keys and jacket, jumped in my car and drove straight to a hotel she'd never find. I called my parents and said I'm done. I bought a one way ticket back to Iowa and flew out the next morning.
My dad and brother eventually volunteered to get my collection back with a U-Haul. They got the long boxes, but she kept them out of the guest room where all my prize swag, including a near complete set of Russ Cochran boxed EC's, were. She got probably a fourth of my collection including all hardbacks, boxed sets, trades, original art, sketches, etc.
My third, and final wife, Susan, is the best. She was previously divorced with no kids and loves mine like her own. My son yesterday called and is getting ready to ask his long time girlfriend to marry him, and probably in a couple of years Susan and I will be grandparents (Affi - grandpa, and Amma - grandma). We're very much looking forward to it, though they live 2 states away.
Believe it or not, about once a year or so, I still dream about my first wife, and it's unbelievable cause it's just like she was when we met and I feel myself falling for her all over again, but then, every time, in my dream, I say this is impossible, and wake up.
Hard as divorce is, it's not worth staying in a bad marriage. There's still lots more life in front to be had.
You can lead a horse to water but you can't make them drink.

As this thread has continued to drift off topic, I've moved all of today's responses to the Meanwhile P.3 thread. Let's reserve this space for meeting and interacting with new members and old faces rejoining our community.

I just posted on the general thread before I saw this. I'm Daryl. I was Romero at old CBR but now I use my real first name. I'ts good to find this place. I need to come up with an avatar and all that but I find the stock avatar on this site to be sufficiently creepy looking for my purposes!
