Hello.
I go by macattack on a lot of places, most notably on Toonzone, where I am an anime reviewer. However, I have had an interest in comics since I was a child, and I am definitely filled with Marvel bias though I am respectful of DC and what they do. I've been a fan of Spider-Man since the classic but flawed 90's incarnation, and he remains my favorite superhero to this day.
I have creative ambitions and have been attempting to get into the writing industry since graduating from college. No such luck, but I'm going to keep trying and experimenting until I can finally get in by raw talent and tenaciousness, as I do not have the connections to have an "in" into the industry which is a big thing you need.
I was a member of CBR in the olden days, and then switched my name after the reboot. After incidents that I will only describe as "heated", I'm going to lie low from there for the time being. I am a former liberal who has turned libertarian in recent years after becoming disillusioned with the politics of my state (Illinois), and I fully admit having trouble speaking in a non-blunt way. The only nuance I have is when I write characters, unfortunately.
I hope to not cause chaos here, but respectfully inject new perspectives in discussions.

Hey all,
Nice community. I got started in comics in the mid-1990s and, while I enjoy the new stuff, I got tired of no one responding when I wanted to discuss the works I grew up with in other online forums. So I'm very glad to have found you all. My interests in comics span back to the pre-code 1950s romance, exploitation, and horror titles and go forward as far as the new Post-Convergence DC (still waiting to see how I feel about Marvel post-Secret Wars).
Looking forward to getting to know you all better.

LCSes pretty much everywhere have been reporting for years now that the majority of new readers are female, and yet they're still vastly underrepresented in cyberspace. Nice to see that changing here |
