Hello, people! Huge comic fan here. Grew up mainly reading DC (am still more of a DC guy at heart), but I enjoy Marvel very much, too. I consider the Flash, Aquaman and Hawkman to be the most underrated heroes in comics. In recent years, I've tried to broaden my horizons with Image, Dynamite, Dark Horse, etc. As a Brit, I did also read the likes of 2000 AD, Eagle (1982-1994 version), The Beano, and The Dandy. I've lurked at this forum for about a fortnight - a friend recommended it to me, and I thank her for that - and it's been fascinating reading the articulate, insightful and enjoyable comments here. I look forward to getting to know you all. Thanks! Did? So past tense? So you stopped? Why?! lol Also welcome, i'm a big 2000ad fan

Yeah, it's been years since I've regularly read 2000 AD. And the others (well, Eagle is no longer with us).
Thanks for the welcome, Confessor!

Hi All My Name is Ed and I am new to collecting comic. I have read them for 65 years but never really collected them.
I am a Ham Radio operator NW4K and my main hobby is electronic. I do watch for old comic now days as I love to go to rummage sales .
I picked up a box of old magazine 2 weeks back and found some older comic in plastic bags and would like to find someone that could help me put a value on them . If any one know of someone that could help me please let me know. Here is the info on the comics I found if anyone has any knowledge of them please reply.
2 Wizard "the guide to comic first edition: one magazine has gold around the word Wizard the other has silver around the word Wizard. there are also cards in the bag. 2 of the cards are in gold and sign by Will Eisner card number is 01/1000 and 95/1000 both have a gold star and 3 regular card also. The magazines and cards are in new condition and are in a plastic bags. I believe they are 1993 issues.

My Dad and I built a radio together when I was in Junior High; and I have been collecting since I was 7 years old and have about 200-300 books altogether and about over 1,000 DC Archives and Marvel Masterworks that I have a dear friend keeps them in his basement. I have a key in his basement ... I also have about 50-65 collectables books and my most prized comic book is Showcase #22

I got here as soon as I could. I'm interested in the whole comic genre, since I'm a writer of books, and there are some great stories out there in comic fandom world. My work is all over the net and world it seems. My own son is a comic book professional and knows almost every comic creator out there. He brings older comics back to life and to the printed page for NEW readers and fans.

Hey, I'm James but I'm active on a few message boards as Hanzo the Razor. Same story as most of you, just a hardcore comicbook fan and 80s kid looking to talk comics. I like all kinds of comics but my absolute favorite stuff is Jack Kirby comics, Sword and Sorcery, and Silver Age Superman. I buy mostly for artwork and favorites besides Jack include Frazetta, Wally Wood, 80s John Byrne, Mike Mignola, Mike Allred, Steve Rude, and many, many more.
Happy to be here!

Welcome, I'm a Jack Kirby Fan, and as well as Superman in the Silver Age too. I like Frazetta, Wally Wood, John Byrne, and like you ... I prefer artwork over written text in comics. I also a fan of Steve Rude and the two Mikes that you've mentioned in your post here in this thread. Glad, you are here and joined us in the fun!
