Jimmy Palmiotti @jpalmiotti 21h21 hours ago @weirdsciencedc you can really stop reviewing each issue. It's just not your thing. That's cool.
It appears that this blog has been giving Jimmy's Harley Quinn/Power Girl series somewhat negative reviews and Palmiotti is not thrilled about this. It seems like he only wants positive reviews for his books. I think the readership(or potential readership) deserves to hear both sides of the story.

I think it reflects poorly on an author (comic or otherwise) to criticize his critics unless they've clearly hit below the belt. If they don't know what they're talking about, that will be apparent to the readers; give them some credit. But this comes off more like sour grapes.

People should be allowed to express their opinions on comics as long as they are respectful and don't directly insult the creator(s). If a writer/artist/etc. can't accept constructive criticism, he probably should find another profession.

You know, reading it again within the context of the review, I partially take back what I said. I originally assumed when he said "it's just not your thing," he meant that reviewing comics was not the critic's "thing". I now realize he meant that the comic he had written was not the critic's "thing" (something I think the author would agree with).
So it's still pretty tactless for Mr. P to be responding to a detractor and giving him permission to stop reviewing, but it isn't insulting in the way in which I had originally read it. My outrage is scaled back to a 3 instead of a 10.

Perhaps Jimmy was just having a bad day earlier yesterday?

Hey guys, it was a bigger part of a conversation that we had offline, but we are buddies and it came off weird on twitter, which was my mistake. All is good…anyone can review what they like…lol…I dont even mind the bad ones really…there is something to learn in good and bad alike.

The Hunter S Thompson homage in Harley Quinn and Power Girl #3 was hilarious!
