Stephen Amell
Having watched one match on SUMMERSLAM - Stephen Amell and Neville take on Stardust & King Barrett.
Partial Clip
Stephen Amell of Arrow Fame is got to be the dumbest actor that cross the boundaries of entertainment in entering a match on SummerSlam and because of it; I lost all respect of him because he could get hurt and that's why I did not care for it. I saw the recap of it off of my dear friend's DVR and I was stunned to see this.
I'm appalled in Stephen Amell in doing this and now having see this - he's jeopardizing his future as an actor and his show ARROW on CW Network.
I'm not watching his ARROW show anymore. If he crossover to Flash and any other show that I like - I have no problems with that and for the record - I cancelled my Comixology Subscription to ARROW today after seeing him performed on Summerslam. I'm very sad to say this and it's breaks my heart to see a talented actor on WWE Programming and I have no respect for a man of his caliber to enter a match and he could had been injured and that would cause great discomfort to the Producers of ARROW show on CW Network.
I've maybe a minority here and I've just don't care for WWE anymore.
Please understand my position here.

I hate wrestling, but it's nice to see actors having fun. Your taking issue with the actor on a show you don't like taking part in a "sport" you don't care for strikes me as odd. Can actors not ride motorbikes? Go hiking? Waterskiing? Take a shower without a bath mat?

I don't know that I take offense to his having done this, but wow -- that's definitely something I did not expect.
Thanks for sharing this bizarre news.

I haven't followed this closely, but WWE has apparently been promoting a story line behind this match, with one of their performers calling out Amell and basically starting a feud with him that led to this match. I agree, it's strange, but at the same time, it's pretty good marketing too.

I actually enjoyed the match when I saw it. I don't think Amell should do it again i think it was best done as a one-shot the way most celebrity involvements are. that said, Amell was in better condition and shape to get more involved in a match than some other celebrities have been in the past.

With respect, Mecha, why the hate?
I'm a wrestling fan as well as a comic fan. LOTS of celebrities do this. In fact, John Stewart was involved in the very same PPV. Amell took it far more seriously than most. Usually, it's a shameless plug, and maybe slapping a bad guy wrestler, or standing and cheering. Amell actually took the time to learn how to take a bump, and legitimately participated. He cut a couple good promos, and was pretty respectable in the ring. I think it was some great cross promotion. The wrestling boards I've seen were extremely impressed, and I suspect it won Arrow some new fans from a different demographic than the show targets.
Incidently, this was the culmination of a program months in the making.. Amell appeared on WWE TV several times before this... not in an actual match, but having both verbal and physical confrontations with the 'bad guys'.
He had no greater chance of getting hurt there as he has doing action sequences on the show, I don't see why it's a bigger risk.
Is it that you don't like WWE specifically? I'll grant that back in the day they were not family friendly, and did some bad things, but that's pretty far in the past now... for the last 8-10 years, they've been very careful to be PG or less.

I did not word it correctly, I should had said respect not hate; because I learned that CW Network allowed him to perform and having said that I wished and regret that I said hate. I lost all respect of CW Network first and foremost and Stephen Amell second and last when he performed on WWE SummerSlam. I have serious issues of entertainers "crossing the line" and what Jon Stewart did to John Cena and I did not watch RAW and I was told that Cena body-slammed him later on. I don't know what shape that's he's in - but I think he got more than he bargained for and that's all I have to say about him. I have little respect for him either. That's my changed opinion on this subject.
