If DC was smart, which they aren't and thus leading to a $2M downfall in sales so far, should put this out in a Hardcover with JLGL commentary on each page. This would've been a jackpot for them.

I check his Facebook Page on a weekly update - His work is incredible. I agree with DubipR's suggestion - it would be a sales boon for DC Comics.

If they print it, I'll buy it.
Unfortunately, DC would probably make a lot more money off of the Jim Lee "Style" Guide.

this ebay seller has been selling posters made from these style guides for years now. I would have bought one ages ago if I'd had the wall space.

Personally, I think a JLGL Artist's Edition from IDW is long overdue. I'm not sure if he's kept his original art or sold it to collectors, though. That seems to be the stumbling point on a lot of these projects. Walt Simonson is the rare case where he's kept everything, but most artists have sold it (the best case) or just gotten rid of it (the worst case). I know the Steranko edition has been a royal pain in the rear for IDW.
I think a publication of JLGL's style guides would appeal more to pros than most of the comics fanbase, which tends to be the case for most JLGL material. We're kinda atypical fans in that regard around here.

Wow. Incredible. Awesome. I have always loved his work. His poses scream action. He is an artist's artist.

That Facebook page has been up for a while. It has been invaluable for me in researching his work for my own aspirations (he, John Buscema, and Neal Adams are probably my favorite comic book artists of all time). I wish this was re-released by DC so that people could actually get their hands on it. It's a shame. Folks would shell out a ton of money for this. From what little I've been able to find out, he also did another style guide around 2000 for DC. I could only find one or two pages online for that though.

Did Garcia Lopez ever have a run on the Wonder Woman series? Just based on the few images seen here I'd rate him as one of the best WW artists of all time.
He drew a great Batgirl as well. Much as I hate knock-off or derivative characters like Batgirl, Supergirl, She-Hulk, the Jane Foster "Thor", etc, I think she has one of the all-time best superhero uniforms, though I prefer the black to the grey one seen here.

Pretty sure his longest run was Atari Force. He is a pretty slow artist and could never maintain a steady run. That was one of the reasons he did so much licensing work.

Also, he's not too keen on superheroes, which is ironic as he's provided the definitive image for so many of them. He'd much rather work on sci-fi or adventure comics.

He is truly a talented artist who understands human anatomy and doesn't rely on gimmicky art work. I wish there were more artists like him today. I agree, DC should release a book of his work with commentary from him.

I might start a separate thread about this, but didn't Garcia-Lopez release this in 1982 with DC and their new slogan "the new DC" or "we're the new DC". I'm trying to remember where that popped up. I'm pretty sure it was in the eighties around the time this dropped.

One of DC's best artists back in the day, too bad he was unable to stick on a series, he would have been remembered as one of the greats. As mentioned above, I do recall him doing Atari Force & I bought the first several issues, but nothing memorable there except for the fantastic art. I absolutely loved his work on New Teen Titans after Perez left the series...but that was a very short run & I was very disappointed when he left because then we got that Eduardo Barreto guy and the book went sailing downhill & never recovered! Hated, hated, hated Baretto on NTT, even wrote a fan letter to Marv Wolfman at the time & told him so!
